13 by Rhonda James book review!

Synopsis from Goodreads:

“Fake it till you make it.”

A notion I once considered utterly ridiculous. Until one crazy night with a mysterious man resulted in a social media frenzy that had the entire entertainment industry talking.

Seems a fake marriage was just what my career needed to make Hollywood come knocking.

Convincing him to continue the charade was almost too easy. The chemistry between us made it impossible to keep my hands to myself. But it was all just pretend, right? Love was never in the script.

That is, until he re-wrote it.

13 Reasons You Should Stay:

1. I’m crazy about you

2. I make you laugh

3. You totally dig me

4. My killer dance moves

5. I play the guitar -I DESERVE BONUS POINTS FOR THAT ONE 6. I’m pretty hot

7. You’ve already met my family -AND YOU’RE STILL HERE

8. No one makes me feel the way you do

9. I SANG COUNTRY FOR YOU

10. We look good together

11. That thing I do with my tongue -YOU REMEMBER

12. Because I’d be lost without you

13. I’m pretty sure I’m in love with you

My thoughts 💭

This was my first Rhonda James book and I really enjoyed it! I thought Jared and Sophie were cute together even though Sophie walked out on Jared to speak to her ex after the foolishness he pulled. Sophie kind of annoyed me after a while lol. Sophie didn’t want to get her heart broken again and Jared (Hawk) was wanting love like the rest of his friends and family had. The wooing had me swooning lol. I loved how they got to know each other and was happy when they finally got their happy ending.

Author: Lani Lynn Vale
Genre: Romantic Suspense
Release Date: August 8, 2018
Cover Designer: Cover Me Darling

Tyler Cree has never been good at the whole look and don’t touch thing.

From the moment he was old enough to walk on his own two feet, he’s been looking for trouble.

Trouble comes in many forms…quite a few of those forms being the female persuasion.

Tyler knows what girls want—a bad boy. And he has the bad boy image down pat.

Ex-military—check.

Hot cop—double check.

A bike between his legs and a devil may care attitude—oh, yeah.

All the girls want him, yet none of them will have him—at least not all of him, anyway. A certain appendage they can have all they want. His heart, however, is not up for grabs. The useless organ inside his chest was broken and battered, mutilated by the one woman he thought would keep it safe.

Spoiler alert: she ripped it to shreds and set fire to the pieces.

To protect himself, Tyler keeps everyone at arm’s length, and never lets anyone get too close.

Then Reagan Rose Alvarez barrels into his life, and trespasses on not only his property, but straight into his abused heart. One glance is all it takes, and he’s suddenly thinking about things he hasn’t thought for quite some time—thoughts that a man like him should never have about a woman like her.

One moment of weakness is all it takes, and suddenly he has no other choice but to go on the offensive.

Keeping her is the only other option now.

Turns out, his heart isn’t as broken as he thought it was.
The only problem is, now the little she-devil holds it in the palm of her hands, and she has no clue just how much power she holds.

I’m a married mother of three. My kids are all under 9, so I can assure you that they are a handful. I’ve been with my paramedic husband now for ten years, and we’ve produced three offspring that are nothing like us. I live in the greatest state in the world, Texas.

HOSTED BY:

Maybe Don’t Wanna by Lani Lynn Vale review!!

Synopsis from Goodreads

Peter Parker Penn.

Unlike the superhero his mother named him after, Parker is no good guy.

In fact, if there’s a picture in the dictionary under anti-hero, it’s his.

Parker’s spent his life trying to get back on the right side of the tracks, but each step he takes forward, he takes two more steps back.

To save one, he hurts others. To make this good, he turns that bad.

For appearances’ sake, he plays the part. He does what people expect him to do—mostly. And at the end of each day, he goes back to his lonely apartment and wishes he was a different person. One who could fix the things he’s broken.

Then Kayla Nash forces her way into his life, and the world as he knows it is irrevocably changed.

Everything he thinks he has right is wrong. And everything he thinks is wrong is oh, so right.

One thing leads to another, and suddenly he’s growing a conscience, and trying to prove to her that he’s as bad as everybody says he is.

Yet she won’t listen.

She’s convinced that she can save him.

Little does she know, Parker isn’t worth saving, and never will be.

My thoughts 💭

Another Lani Lynn Vale book I couldn’t put down.. Parker thinks he’s a bad guy due to things he did when he was younger but he’s really a great older guy set in his ways. Kayla’s young, full of life and she doesn’t really know what she wants to do & tries stuff out to see if it’s what she wants to do. She shadowed a detective and the things she saw led her to see being a detective isn’t for her. Older man & younger woman but Kayla and Parker fit well together. I think it’s a 16 year age gap so if that bothers you this book may not be for you. The letter Kayla’s dad wrote to her had me tearing up and laughing. I like this series so far! I love Janie and Kayla’s friendship😂😂 their pacts are hilarious! I can’t wait for the next one!

The baby mistake by j.l. beck & stacey lewis

Title: The Baby Mistake
Authors: J.L. Beck & Stacey Lewis
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Series: Standalone In The Winston Brothers #2

Theres two things you should know about me:

One: I don’t make mistakes
Two: I’m never going to settle down with one woman

I’m the fun brother, the jokester, the one who’s never serious…

At least, not until I lose the biggest influence in my life.

Now I’m spiraling out of control, so much so I spent the night after the funeral drowning my sorrows. First in the bottom of a bottle…then in the body of a blonde bombshell who looked at me like I could make all her carnal dreams come true.

Spoiler alert: I did.

I don’t remember her name or what she looked like, but now she’s consuming my every thought.

It doesn’t help that my brother selected a brand new intern with a banging body and blonde hair that makes me think of her to be my assistant for the next six weeks.

I spend my days trying not to bend her over my desk and make her mine…

And my nights dreaming about the girl who got away.

Everything changes when the secret she’s been hiding comes out…

…and I realize I made a huge mistake.

**This is book two in The Winston Brothers Series, however, it can be read as a standalone, separate from book one, The Baby Arrangement. Though, we do recommend you read that book first since The Baby Mistake does contain spoilers from The Baby Arrangement. It’s baby making, alpha loving, Kindle fanning romance, so prepare yourself with a towel. HEA included.**

Standalone In The Winston Brothers #1

J.L. Beck and Stacey Lewis are two best selling romance authors. They share an equal love for writing, and reading, and are introverts at heart. They love alpha males, and romance that makes you swoon. When you read a book by them you’re guranteed and HEA ending.

Bane

Naked surfer. Habitual pothead. A con, a liar, a thief and a fraud.

Last I heard, he was extorting the rich and screwing their wives for a living.

Which is why I’m more than a little surprised to find him at my threshold, looking for my friendship, my services, and most puzzling of all—looking humbled.

Thing is, I’m on a boycott. Literally—I cut boys from my life. Permanently.

Problem is, Bane is not a boy, he is all man, and I’m falling, crashing, drowning in his sweet, perfect lies.

Jesse Carter

Hot as hell, cold as ice.

I wasn’t aware of her existence until a fat, juicy deal landed in my lap.

She’s a part of it, a little plaything to kill some time.

She is collateral, a means to an end, and a side-bonus for striking a deal with her oil tycoon stepdad.

More than anything, Jesse Carter is a tough nut to crack.

Little does she know, I have the f****** teeth for it

My thoughts 💭

L.J. Shen is absolutely one of my favorite authors. Soon as I noticed the ARC in my kindle library I immediately started reading! It’s hard to write a review because it’s like what do I say besides you should definitely read it! I loved this book. I laughed, I cried and I was angry. Bane and Jesse’s story is just wow. Jesse starts off needing Bane but this princess ends up saving herself and reading her do it with Bane having her back is awesome. Bane is a lot of things but his love for Jesse and his mom makes your heart melt! Bane and Jesse woke each other up and it was amazing to read💙

Down & Dirty: Axel By Jeanne St. James review!

Synopsis from Amazon:

Welcome to Shadow Valley where the Dirty Angels MC rules. Get ready to get Down & Dirty because this is Axel’s story…

When you’re a cop, life can be complicated when the woman you love is MC born and raised…

Though the club blood runs thick in Axel’s veins, he’s despised by them for being a cop. They also hate him because his family turned their back years ago not only on the club but his brother, the president of the Dirty Angels MC. However, he’s loved Bella forever, watched her marry the wrong man, one who broke her in almost every imaginable way, and yet she’s still the strongest person he knows. Despite their rivaling families, he won’t let anything stand in the way of making her his this time.

Bella hasn’t known anything other than alpha bikers her whole life. Her marriage to one turned into a tragedy, one that changed the rest of her life. She was never the same after that one fateful night that Axel came to save her. Though he remains on the outskirts of her life, he’s always there: watching, waiting, worrying about her. Especially when a rival MC continues to wreak havoc on all of their lives.

Like Romeo and Juliet, his family may never accept her, and hers him, but they’re both determined to tear down the wall that divides them.

Note: This book can be read as a standalone. It includes lots of steamy scenes, biker slang, cursing, some violence and, of course, an HEA. If you like alpha males who like to take charge, this book is for you.

My thoughts 💭He’s a cop & she’s DAMC but they are so right for each other! I love Axel & Bella! Axel was just what Bella needed, he isn’t as much of a caveman as the other guys but you still know who his woman is lol! They’ve had eyes for each other since forever and they finally say screw what everyone else says and gets together. Another great book I couldn’t put it down! I can’t wait for Slade & Crow’s books😩
