Daniel Collins… hunky single dad… and my neighbor.
Arrogant, bad-mannered, and reclusive.
They call him the Brute.
I should stay away from him…
except I can’t.
Not when he reveals his brokenness,
and I glimpse the pain in his eyes.
Not when his touch unravels me,
and the heat between us could set the oceans alight.
But play with fire, and you will get burned.
A fragile heart can easily be broken again.
**
A new standalone contemporary romance from award-winning international bestselling author SC Daiko… a beautiful love story with plenty of heat and angst.

This was my first book by the author and I liked it. Cat and Daniel are both struggling with the loss of their spouses and trying to move forward with their lives & being single parents. They quickly turned into a little family due to their kids friendship and I loved it! Daniel gave me whiplash😂 one minute he’s a hottie & the next second he’s a brute🤷🏾♀️ but they had good chemistry! I loved how they couldn’t stay away from each other when Daniel wasn’t being too much of a brute. I loved the epilogue!
My cottage backs onto woodland, and there’s a path leading through it. Birdsong and the scent of blackberries fills the air. I let Toby off his leash and he immediately starts foraging for anything edible… wild fruit being his favourite snack.
I leave him to it and stride on ahead, knowing he’ll catch up in good time. Soon I come to a glade where the trees have been thinned out. Oh shit, standing in the middle of the clearing is Daniel. He’s bare-chested and dressed in running shorts, doing stretching exercises braced against a fallen tree trunk.
I slow my footsteps, treading quietly on mouldy old leaves, and rake my gaze over him. His thick almost-black hair is dripping sweat; it falls down his face and the back of his solid neck. His beard is unkept and wild-looking. But it’s his powerful body that mesmerises me and I study the tats on his muscular arms, tempted to get closer for a better look. God, he’s beautiful, I suddenly realise. Beautiful but freaking scary at the same time.
I release a slow breath. Stop it, Cat. You shouldn’t be looking at him that way. The man in front of you is a brute. You need to keep your distance from him.
Slowly, my heart pounding against my ribcage, I turn around and prepare to make my way back down the path. Except, Toby comes bounding up and starts to bark.
Dammit!
Daniel freezes on the spot. His eyes crash into mine, and if I was scared before now I’m practically peeing myself. He straightens himself to his full height, still glaring at me, not saying a word.
Toby keeps barking, but he’s also wagging his tail. I grab hold of his collar and fasten the lead. “Sorry to disturb you.” I bite at my lips. “We’ll get out of your way.”
He arches an eyebrow. “So, you weren’t following me?”
“Oh, God, no. We were just going for a walk.”
I’m still staring at his tats, trying to decipher the intricate patterns. He catches my gaze, and I feel my face burning up.
“Get on with your walk, then,” he says through gritted teeth. “Leave me alone.”
My fingernails dig into the palms of my hands. “No need to be bad-mannered.”
He crosses his arms in front of his broad chest and lets out an edgy laugh.
“You are a prick,” I spin around, “the rudest man I’ve ever met.”
He laughs again and keeps laughing mockingly as I stride off down the pathway, Toby at my heel

Synopsis from Goodreads
JAXON KADE
I can’t breathe… I don’t want to. With every breath that fills my lungs, I feel the pain she’s been fighting and it’s killing me slowly, reminding me of the day she got ripped away.
I’ve gone thirteen years without her, and as if she was never gone, she walks back into my life, feisty as hell and set on running from me.
I refuse to let that happen.
She’s my Lex. It doesn’t matter if I have to destroy everything in my path that leads to her—I will.
I’ve been in love with her since the age of nine. I lost her once, and you better damn well believe that I will walk through the fires of Hell before losing her again.
She’s broken…
Ripped apart by the fucking world. I’m making it my mission to piece her back together again and claim her as mine.
Every part of her sexy body has been possessed by me.
I know she sees she’s not the only one who has changed with time. I’m rough, demanding, and just as damaged as she is.
But there’s one thing I’m capable of—always have been—and that is loving her.
I promise to do everything in my power to show her, no matter what it takes or how much it hurts.
ALEXANDRA ADAMS
I never thought I’d lay eyes on Jax Kade again, and the moment I realized the rough, edgy man I allowed to take me home and rough-fuck me was him… my world came crashing down around me.
I’m no good for him.
Not for the sweet, protective Jax that took care of me back when no one else would.
I’m damaged, unrepairable…
I need medicine to escape this reality—the pills, cocaine, and liquor aren’t even enough to numb the pain of my past.
Years without Jax destroyed me—ruined me forever—and being back in his life will only ruin him the same.
I could never do that to my beautiful Jax. I never meant to find him, and I sure as hell never meant to want him again as much as I did before we were ripped apart.
It doesn’t matter that I need to stay away from him. It doesn’t matter that I fight to keep my distance. Jax refuses to let me go.
He doesn’t care how fucked up I am. My biggest fear is destroying the only person I’ve ever been capable of loving, but he’s not giving me any other choice…
My thoughts 💭
I love Victoria Ashley she always comes through with a great read! Once I started I couldn’t put it down. Lex and Jax grew up together. Lex had an abusive father and Jax had a drug addict mother. They were there for each other as much as 2 kids could be until Lex’s dad moved them away in the middle of the night. Alex comes back to town years later but she’s struggling with depression and is a drug addict. She wants to stay away from Jax but they end up in each other’s arms anyway. Alex tries to fight it at first but Jax refuses to let Alex go again and is determined to get her clean. Jax is tough but he’s such a sweetheart for Lex and I couldn’t help but love him!!

My first Jackson Kane book and I enjoyed it! I loved Remy & Star! I love a good action packed M.C. romance and this one didn’t disappoint!

This is my first book by this author and I loved it! Nox and Beck get married in Vegas after a night drinking away their sorrows and she leaves the next morning without giving Nox her number or anything! They end up bumping into each other almost 2 years later and she asks for a divorce…..he doesn’t give it to her because of a deal he made with her BFF. She tries everything she can to get him to sign the papers but he’s stubborn then they end up falling for each other(happy sigh)! Their story was so cute I couldn’t stop reading!

She’s a huge believer in flaws making us human, and that not everyone likes bacon. She’s also addicted to chocolate and scared of the effects of the coming shortage. She swears like a f*cking trooper, and thinks that graphic smuttiness should be as real in fiction as it is in real life.

Prelude in the American Gods series.
Young. Wealthy. Elite. Attractive. The gentlemen’s secret society at Yale was filled with them.
And Nathaniel Radcliffe, the bane of my existence, was one of them.
As the right hand of the American Gods, he was conceited and arrogant. A dangerously handsome man in a tailored custom suit and shiny black oxford loafers.
The classroom was our battlefield. We made a sport out of arguing and debating, ready to do anything in order to win over the other.
Deadly opponents, deadlier minds.
I’d sworn I’d never give him the upper hand, until…
The secret I’ve been hiding for the last three years?
He just discovered it…and now he has all the power.

How long must I wait for the next one?!!? Wow…this book was great. Once I started I couldn’t stop reading. Nathaniel and Juliette are rivals at school until he discovers that she is working for his family’s country club over the summer. He decides to make Juliette a offer she can’t refuse. Then they are sneaking off having hot sex and falling in love all summer! I loved how Nathaniel challenged Juliette just to get a rise out of her! I can’t wait until the next one but I’m really looking forward to Arsen’s story!

Bane
Then.
A liar.
A con.
A godless thief.
My reputation was a big wave that I rode, one that swallowed everyone around me, drowning every attempt to fuck with what’s mine.
I’d been known as a stoner, but power was my real drug of choice. Money meant nothing. It was tangible, and therefore easy to lose. See, to me, people were a game. One I’d always known how to win.
Move the rooks around.
Change the queen when necessary.
Guard the king at all fucking times.
I was never distracted, never deterred, and never jealous.
So, imagine my surprise when I found myself being all three at once.
It was a siren with coal black hair who robbed me of riding the biggest wave I’d seen that summer. Of my precious attention. Of my goddamn breath.
She glided from the ocean to the beach like nightfall.
I crouched down, straddling my surfboard, gawking.
Edie and Beck stopped beside me, floating on their boards in my periphery.
“This one’s taken by Emery Wallace,” Edie had warned. Thief.
“This one’s the hottest masterpiece in town.” Beck had chuckled. Con.
“More importantly, she only dates rich bastards.” Liar.
I had all the ingredients to pull her in.
Her body was a patch of fresh snow. White, fair, like the sun shone through her, never quite soaking in. Her skin defied nature, her ass defied my sanity, but it was the words on her back that made my logic rebel.
It wasn’t her curves or the way she swayed her hips like a dangling, poisonous apple that warranted my reaction to her.
It was that tattoo I had noticed when she swam close to me earlier, the words trickling down the nape of her neck and back in a straight arrow.
My Whole Life Has Been Pledged to This Meeting with You
Pushkin.
I only knew one person who went gaga over the Russian poet, and, like the famous Alexander, he was currently six feet under.
My friends began to paddle back to shore. I couldn’t move. It felt like my balls were ten tons heavy. I didn’t believe in love at first sight. Lust, maybe, but even that wasn’t the word I was looking for. No. This girl fucking intrigued me.
“What’s her name?” I snatched Beck’s ankle, yanking him back to me. Edie stopped pedaling and looked back, her gaze ping-ponging between us.
“Doesn’t matter, bro.”
“What’s. Her. Name?” I repeated through a locked jaw.
“Dude, she’s, like, way young.”
“I will not repeat myself a third time.”
Beck’s throat bobbed with a swallow. He knew damn well that I didn’t mess around. If she was legal—it was on.
“Jesse Carter.”
Jesse Carter was going to be mine before she even knew me.
Before I even knew her.
Before her life turned upside down and her fate rewrote itself with her blood.
So here was the truth that even my lying ass wouldn’t admit later on in our story—I wanted her before.
Before she became business.
Before the truth caged her in.
Before the secrets gushed out.
I never did get to surf that day.
My surfboard broke.
Should have known it was an omen.
My heart was going to be next in line.
And for a small chick, she did one hell of a fucking job obliterating it.

Synopsis from Goodreads:
“Fake it till you make it.”
A notion I once considered utterly ridiculous. Until one crazy night with a mysterious man resulted in a social media frenzy that had the entire entertainment industry talking.
Seems a fake marriage was just what my career needed to make Hollywood come knocking.
Convincing him to continue the charade was almost too easy. The chemistry between us made it impossible to keep my hands to myself. But it was all just pretend, right? Love was never in the script.
That is, until he re-wrote it.

My thoughts 💭
This was my first Rhonda James book and I really enjoyed it! I thought Jared and Sophie were cute together even though Sophie walked out on Jared to speak to her ex after the foolishness he pulled. Sophie kind of annoyed me after a while lol. Sophie didn’t want to get her heart broken again and Jared (Hawk) was wanting love like the rest of his friends and family had. The wooing had me swooning lol. I loved how they got to know each other and was happy when they finally got their happy ending.

Synopsis from Goodreads
Peter Parker Penn.
Unlike the superhero his mother named him after, Parker is no good guy.
In fact, if there’s a picture in the dictionary under anti-hero, it’s his.
Parker’s spent his life trying to get back on the right side of the tracks, but each step he takes forward, he takes two more steps back.
To save one, he hurts others. To make this good, he turns that bad.
For appearances’ sake, he plays the part. He does what people expect him to do—mostly. And at the end of each day, he goes back to his lonely apartment and wishes he was a different person. One who could fix the things he’s broken.
Then Kayla Nash forces her way into his life, and the world as he knows it is irrevocably changed.
Everything he thinks he has right is wrong. And everything he thinks is wrong is oh, so right.
One thing leads to another, and suddenly he’s growing a conscience, and trying to prove to her that he’s as bad as everybody says he is.
Yet she won’t listen.
She’s convinced that she can save him.
Little does she know, Parker isn’t worth saving, and never will be.
My thoughts 💭
Another Lani Lynn Vale book I couldn’t put down.. Parker thinks he’s a bad guy due to things he did when he was younger but he’s really a great older guy set in his ways. Kayla’s young, full of life and she doesn’t really know what she wants to do & tries stuff out to see if it’s what she wants to do. She shadowed a detective and the things she saw led her to see being a detective isn’t for her. Older man & younger woman but Kayla and Parker fit well together. I think it’s a 16 year age gap so if that bothers you this book may not be for you. The letter Kayla’s dad wrote to her had me tearing up and laughing. I like this series so far! I love Janie and Kayla’s friendship😂😂 their pacts are hilarious! I can’t wait for the next one!
…and I realize I made a huge mistake.
**This is book two in The Winston Brothers Series, however, it can be read as a standalone, separate from book one, The Baby Arrangement. Though, we do recommend you read that book first since The Baby Mistake does contain spoilers from The Baby Arrangement. It’s baby making, alpha loving, Kindle fanning romance, so prepare yourself with a towel. HEA included.**
