Synopsis

Drawing, my online clan, and planning my escape from my mother–these are priorities. Or, at least they were, until three huge alien males came to abduct me and take me to their planet. But it’s not just a simple process of probing and then releasing me back to Earth. All those movies are lies. These three males keep me. And I’m suddenly a cadet at an Omega Academy where I’m supposed to learn how to serve the Gretar Fleet. None of this makes any sense to begin with, nevermind the three males I can’t seem to avoid. But they say we have a connection, that we’re a circle, whatever that means. And my body seems to agree, because anytime they’re near, I can’t seem to think of anything except Kyte’s horns, Jeren’s smirk, and Ceredes’s long, hard … sword. Focusing on class is almost impossible, and the Omega Academy isn’t for the faint of heart. I have to learn who my enemies are, how to make friends, and how I fit with the three males I can’t stop thinking about. All doable, right? No. Not right, especially when I discover the fleet has other plans for me. The bond with my three males may be the only thing that can keep me safe, but that means we need to consummate our circle. Yeah, you read that right, consummate. Deep. Breaths.

Lily’s Note: Omega Academy is a full-length novel and the first book of the Omega Academy trilogy

My Thoughts 💭

This was an amazing story and I can’t wait until the next book. Lana is taken from Earth and she believes it’s a mistake but 3 Alphas are sure it isn’t because she is theirs. They were so cute and I loved the chemistry between them. The drama and secrets started unraveling at the end and I’m left needing to know what happens next.

ASCENDERS SAGA
AUTHOR: C. L. GABER
GENRE: FANTASY ROMANCE

Add on Goodreads

ASCENDERS: HIGH SCHOOL FOR THE RECENTLY DEPARTED (BOOK ONE) On an icy road in suburban, Illinois, 17-year-old Walker Callaghan and her mother, Madeline drive home in a freakishly early September snowstorm. A lone deer wanders into the middle of the road causing a collision of fates.

Walker dies, but she doesn’t go to heaven or hell. She lands in a small white Craftsman house on a suburban street in a middle zone where teenagers have one thing in common: They were the morning announcement at their high school because they died young.

These high school kids are now caught in a strange in-between zone where existence hasn’t changed very much. This special teen limbo looks a lot like life in a quaint Michigan town complete with jocks, popular girls and cliques. “Damn, there are even cheerleaders in death,” Walker observes.

Walker will now attend a swanky, private school called The Academy to keep learning because the human mind doesn’t fully form until you’re 24-years-old. She is told there will be no homework, no tests, no SATS, and no college applications. She’s just here to learn and stay healthy including playing a sport. Her “air hockey” is at a special stadium where you play real hockey while you levitate 12 feet in the air. There are perks to an afterlife education.

It’s not a coincidence that the music teacher is a shaggy haired guy named Kurt who “used to have this band.” The drama teacher, Heath, is crush worthy because back in life he starred in some cape and tights movie. Jerry is the hall monitor, but you never need a pass. Robin is a mime in the park while Paul shuns cars and is the coach of the biking team.

Principal King explains the rules – there are (almost) none. Why? You can’t die twice, although Walker tests it by remaining underwater in the river with no oxygen for 15 minutes and by hurling her body off a waterfall. A reset means there will never be pain again. Falling in love, however, is the only dangerous thing you can do…because no one knows how long you’ll stay in this realm or what’s next.

A rule breaker since birth, Walker falls hard for tat-covered, bad boy Daniel Reid who is about to break the only law of this place. You’re not allowed to think about, plan or plot to go back to the Living Realm to check on your former life.
Daniel doesn’t care. Armed with medieval weapons made in shop class, he just needs an hour back to life to retrieve his six-year-old brother Bobby who strangely never ascended with the rest of the family after a plane crash. Bobby is what’s known as an earth bound spirit, stuck at the site of a violent death.

Walker loves Daniel and risks it all to go back with him. She even goes with him on a visit to the prison school in the realm called ITT (The Institute for Troubled Teens), a monstrous steel structure hanging off a mountain, where teenage dead felons are housed in glass cages that look like building blocks. A 14-year-old on D Block  named A.E. — the only boy to ever go back — helps them find the portal back to life. Yet, there is danger in th form of a former clown/serial killer named John G., a janitor at ITT, who sleeps and waits for his next victims. He eats them.

Back in the Living Realm, have Walker and Daniel learned enough to outsmart demons that want them extinguished? Can their love survive the fragmented evil parts of themselves that are now hunting them down as they try to find their way back to the Middle?

And one last question: When did Walker become so badass with her weapon of choice, a ninja-style throwing star?

Ascenders: It’s an adventure of an after-lifetime.

ASCENDERS: SKYPUNCH (BOOK TWO)

In the Midst—a place for those who die young—there are no rules except one.

And Walker Callaghan, dead at seventeen, just broke it. She briefly revisited her earthly life . . . and the punishment is devastating.

Longing for her rebel love interest, Daniel Reid, Walker finds an ally in Cass, whose attraction to her is as alive as he is. “Life is short,” he tells her. “I’m banking on eternity. With you.”

In the second book of the Ascenders Saga, a proposed realm-jumping journey will take Walker and Daniel back to life again to search for something buried in history. They team with students from several other schools in the middle realm including a place for teens born with oddities. It’s home to the Claires . . . beautiful, ruthless, and quite dead seventeen-year-old quads who each have a different clairvoyant gift.

Can Walker survive another adventure of an afterlife-time—or will she find herself on the downside of eternity?

ASCENDERS: OMORROW (BOOK THREE) Expired at seventeen and living in a middle world for those who died young, Walker Callaghan and her rebellious love, Daniel Reid, have been tasked with an insurmountable mission: Find something hidden in the past that will forever change everything for the living and the dead.

Sent to a place where a second can mean a lifetime, Walker and Daniel find their existence threatened as they scour New York City decades to find the lost, secret writings of Albert Einstein. They are warned, “Die in the past and you will never be born in the future.”

History has a way of being rewritten by those who defy the odds. In the third book of the Ascenders Saga, will Walker manage to survive or delete her own story?

ASCENDERS: 11:11 (BOOK FOUR)

In the Midst — a place for those who departed young — there is a fate worse than death. It’s the passing of true love. Tat-covered Daniel Reid’s memory has been erased by his sadistic father. Walker Callaghan must face her destiny alone.

Alliances shift in the fourth book of the Ascenders Saga. Only twice a day at 11:11 — a time when all things converge — is everyone and everything clear.

Forced to run to The Other Side, Walker and Daniel discover the afterlife world they previously knew was only the beginning of the vastness. In a new realm of illusion and deception, there are no rules except one: Rock bottom builds heroes.

When a beautiful brunette driver meets Nashville Slammers catcher, Sawyer McBain, at the airport, he figures it’s his lucky day. Slammers executive Addison Carlisle needs one little favor. Sure, she may have kinda maybe kidnapped one of her professional baseball players, but it’s for a really good cause. She desperately needs someone high-profile to auction off that night for the multiple sclerosis society she’s chairing, but he insists he wants a favor in return.

Soon Addie and Sawyer are trading completely ridiculous I.O.U.s, like being his plus-one to his grandmother’s poker game or keeping each other company at the driving range. But when their agreement goes from flirty to fiery, neither is ready to let their guard down for a shot at love.

Olivia is still addicted to the taste of his kisses, but can she give him her heart again? Years of hurt and mistrust are not easily erased and threaten to tear them apart once more.

Can Santiago and Olivia’s love grow deep roots among the vineyards of Mendoza, or will they harvest only a lifetime of regrets?

This stand-alone novella is the second book in the Taste For Love Series – stories of men and women who love life and each other deeply.

Taste for Coffee (Taste for Love, #1)

Romance author Francine Beaton published her first romance novel — a contemporary sports romance called EYE ON THE BALL— in April 2018 after she first started writing in July 2016. Her latest novel, TASTE FOR WINE, will be the second in her TASTE FOR LOVE SERIES and her thirteenth novel. Francine currently calls Pretoria home until the travel bug bites again. She loves travelling to faraway places and considers Scotland her second home. When she’s not reading or writing about love and Happily Ever After, she’s most likely busy painting or taking photos of everything that catches her eye. During rugby season, you’ll either find her next to the pitch or in front of the television, following her favourite teams. It’s probably not difficult to figure out why her debut novel, Eye on the Ball, as well as the series, Playing for Glory, has rugby as a theme.

Synopsis

I thought leaving her in that room covered in her attacker’s blood would teach her a lesson.

I thought she’d be more careful about her safety.

Little did I know that she’s seeking the pain and humiliation.

Well, it’s her lucky day, because pain is sort of my thing.

I can hurt her much more than she’s able to hurt herself.

The twist is we’ll both enjoy every second of it.

My Thoughts 💭

I love this series! Tj and Kaci were perfect for each other! They both are a little messed up but their kinky and crazy ways went so well together. This was an enjoyable read and I definitely recommend reading this!

Pre-Order Blitz: Nick by A.S. Kelly!

Title: Nick
Series: O’Connor Brothers
Author: A. S. Kelly
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: August 20, 2019

I’ve never liked lies. I’m an honest guy: I say exactly what I’m thinking without any filter. Without considering the consequences.
That’s why people always think I’m an idiot. Someone who only wants to have fun, who never has any problems.
Someone who never worries about the future.
I’ve made my decision.
I’ve chosen myself and left everything else behind.
But what happens when karma comes back to turn your life upside-down? When you find yourself standing in front of someone who could break down all of your walls?
The only woman capable of looking past the façade, and seeing Nick O’Connor for what he really is: a liar.
Would it make sense to keep lying? And, for the first time in my life, could I live with just being Nick?
It’s a dangerous game, a match to be played.
The last match. My match.
I’m Nick O’Connor, and the whistle’s about to blow: I’m about to face the biggest match of my life. But will I be able to fight until the end? Or will I give in, like I always do?
Because I already know I’m going to lose this challenge. We both will.
Because she deserves everything.
And I have nothing to give.

“Nick O’Connor,” she says, smoothing down her uniform.
I stand there, frozen, my jaw on the floor and my airways blocked.
“C-C…”
She looks at me, her head tilted. “Stuttering problem?”
“W-what? N-no!”
She laughs, and I nearly have a heart attack.
“C-Casey.”
“Wow, we got there in the end. What’s up? Memory loss?”
I shake my head vacantly. “What…How…?”
“What am I doing here? How am I?” she helps me out.
I nod, but I still can’t close my mouth.
“I work in the hospital,” she says, gesturing to her uniform. “And as for the second question…Was that supposed to be ‘how are you’?”
I move my head up and down.
“You used to have so much to say,” she says, raising an eyebrow.
Used to.
Has someone just plunged a knife through my stomach?
“You look good,” she says, letting her eyes slide over my figure.
You look incredible.
“Well, thanks,” she says, grinning.
What? Did I say that out loud? Has my tongue become independent from my brain?
“My brother’s just had a baby,” I manage, trying to fill the silence with something logical in case she thinks I’m an idiot – which, I guess, is what I actually am. But better not to shove that in her face at eight ‘o’clock in the morning.
“Oh,” she says, incredulous.
Surprise effect. Always works.
“Ryan?” she asks.
I shake my head. “Ian.”
“That’s amazing! Congratulations!”
I smile, full of pride. I knew that baby would save my life.
“Maybe I’ll pop in later and say hi to the new arrival.”
“You should. She’s stunning.”
She tucks a loose strand of hair behind her ear slowly, tracing it with her finger. Her lips gently curl into a smile that reaches her ears, lighting up her face with tenderness.
What about you? Do you have children? Are you married? Do you have a boyfriend? Are you…?
“I should get going.” She glances at her watch.
Did I not say anything?
Luckily, this time, my brain decided to use its anti-arsehole filter, and prevent any more slip-ups.
“My shift starts in ten minutes and I haven’t had a coffee yet this morning.”
“Can I get it for you?” I ask, suddenly.
The question leaps over my anti-arsehole filter with both feet and lands right in my stomach.
She looks at me for a few seconds, her brow furrowed.
“You’re eight years too late, Nick O’Connor.”
Ah. Busted.
My ego, my pride, and…better stop there.
“Take care,” she says, before striding past me and disappearing down the hospital corridors, leaving me standing in the entrance like a dick, incapable of saying anything that could make her stay.
“Hmm.”
Shit.
I turn to see Ryan leaning smugly against the wall a few metres away from me.
“Was that who I think it was?”
“Shut up.”
He bursts out into such shrieking laughter that it must have come straight from the mouth of hell.
“No way, Nick. This time I definitely won’t shut up.”
“I could put an end to all this right now and kill you out in the car park. There’s already too many of us, and now that Jamie’s here, everyone will be so busy suffocating her with love that no one will even realise you’re gone.”
He steps towards me, with a smile plastered across his face that tells me he’s about to get his revenge. He bends down to pick up my phone and hands it back to me.
“Now it’s your turn to swim through the shit. That,” he says, pointing in the direction that Casey had disappeared, “is your sea. I’m just going to sit back and watch while you splash around, looking for the life raft. And don’t expect me to offer you a hand, unless it’s to hold your head under.”
That’s when I realise that I’m completely fucked. Not because of what Ryan said: his words have no effect on me. He’s nothing against me, I’d squash him like an ant.
The problem is something else.
Something much bigger.

And its name is Casey Madigan.

Synopsis

One deep breath. Two slow blinks. Three hollow beats.

I’m still here.

After three years, that reminder isn’t as necessary. But everyone has their bad days. This is definitely one of them. Until an adorable little boy dashes into my store. His zest for life makes me smile in a way that’s been long lost. Then I meet his father.

Well, confront is more like it.

Brance Stone is volatile.

Offensive.

Harsh.

And can’t be bothered to care.

Not that I want him to. I get frostbite just looking into Brance’s glacial stare. But there’s something undeniable about him.

My misery suddenly craves company. The suffocating numbness lifts whenever Brance is near. That alone should have me running in the opposite direction. Try as I might, there’s no avoiding him. If only I could understand why. As if he’d let me.

I don’t ask. He doesn’t tell. A silent, bitter truce settles between us.

That was our first mistake.

It’s certainly not the last.

My Thoughts 💭

I enjoyed this book! Braelyn is mourning the loss of a loved one and isn’t really living. A cute little boy named Ollie comes into her store and soon brings his cynical but hot father with him and they change each other’s lives. Brance was a jerk but Braelyn made him just a little sweet. Ollie was the most adorable boy ever! This was a good read and I recommend giving it a try!

SYNOPSIS

The son of a prominent Cosa Nostra Don, Corrado Guzzi’s life should have been all mapped out. He would be what every other Guzzi man was, too—made, mafia. It’s their way. But when given another choice, the chance to be something more, he takes it. Even if it comes with strings.

It’s there that he might find where he belongs, and Alessio Sorrento. The man who could change his whole life.

This love thing? It should have been easy, but they made it hard. Nothing about a relationship like theirs is simple. Dictated by rules, weighed down with things left unsaid, and already hanging by a frayed thread.

This is what love looks like before, and after.
Before she came along.
And after she was there.

It takes one woman to change everything.

Ginevra Calabrese wasn’t ready for this—for them.

So, what happens now?

*

NOTE: Corrado (book one) and Alessio (book two) are a duet within The Guzzi Legacy series, and should be read in order. All other titles in the series are standalone. This is NOT a love triangle.

My Thoughts 💭

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️😍

This was sooo amazing! This book was so hot and sweet and hoooootttt! I absolutely loved Ginny, Alessio & Corrado’s story! The love between the trio and their family was amazing! I definitely recommend reading this duet! You won’t be able to put it down!
