Synopsis

Every royal has their dirty little secret. His was… me.

It should have been simple.

Go to the ball, meet the prince, and secure his patronage for my favorite charity.

But beneath the mask, the brooding beast of a man was not at all who I expected.

He was dark and intense and eerily quiet.

When I left, I could still feel the ghost of his touch branded into my skin.

He haunted my dreams, but I never expected to see him again.

Then he came for me.

And he took me.

And I learned that his darkness was a void I never could have conceived.

He’s the crown prince of Norway.

And, now, I’m his captive.

My thoughts 💭

This was an intriguing and dirty Cinderella story. I liked Ella and Thor together. They had amazing chemistry. They both had their own demons but it didn’t stop them from falling for each other. I enjoyed this book.

Synopsis

I lived my life as a prisoner.

I’ve always been told stories about the real world, but I haven’t seen it for myself. All I have ever known is pain.

And darkness.

They tell me I have been blind since birth.

When I make my escape, I think freedom is finally within my grasp…

Until I’m captured by the paranormal police for a murder I didn’t commit. Apparently, I have powers—powers I have always suspected myself of having.

Normal people can’t see through other people’s eyes, right?

Thrust into Nightmare Penitentiary, I meet a group of hard, alpha, psychotic inmates who believe I’m the answer to all their prayers. Me? I’m just trying to survive and figure out what it means to live. My new home isn’t just a prison, but a labyrinth with horrors around every corner.

But what if the cost of my life is my freedom? Am I willing to trade one cage for another?

Welcome to Nightmare Penitentiary where you come in handcuffs and leave in a body bag.

This is NOT a bully romance. These men are all hardened criminals and extreme alphas, but they adore their female. Be prepared to enjoy a painfully naïve female main character who slowly grows as the book progresses and a group of psychotic, murderous males. This book contains strong language, sexual situations, and a reverse harem romance.

My thoughts 💭

I am loving these Paranormal Prison books! Nina goes from being held captive to thrown in jail for a crime she didn’t commit. She meets her absolutely hunky and adorable mates. A group of crazy and damaged men fall for the sweet Nina. I loved the banter between the characters. Abel and Rion were absolutely hilarious! Damien was my favorite! Kai and Bronson were sweet-ish. I can’t wait to read the next book!

Synopsis

I’ve been marked. My time is limited. Soon, the dark woman who attacked me will return for me. To prepare, I’ll have to work harder than ever. Having four powerful, sexy sorcerers watching my every move should make things easier, but somehow, it can be a bit of a distraction. Especially when my magic is urging me toward them all. Could it really hurt my chances? After all, a girl’s gotta practice.

My thoughts 💭

This was an okay read for me. I was confused a bit because I thought they had Jade’s dad protected so I wasn’t sure how he was able to get into so much trouble. Jade is still wayyy too forgiving. Rocco, Ryker and Thorn are so hot and cold with Jade I wasn’t sure how to feel about them. Darius is my favorite.

If only it was that simple.
If only the tabloids didn’t back them into a wall.
If only they saw it coming.

If only they could go back to the time before he was … Pink.

If only.

Pink is a 112k standalone Mafia Romance set in Bethany-Kris’s Commission World.

“Nobody followed me,” she promised, clearly noticing his stare. “No security, no paparazzi … hopefully no fans, but sometimes that happens so if it does, just let me say hi, do my thing, and don’t answer anybody’s questions because they will try to get literally anything they can out of you. Fair warning.”

Lev’s attention went back to her in an instant. “Oh, no worries on that. I wouldn’t mind if you did need to bring somebody, by the way. It’s probably a normal thing for you, right?”

“Regular … not something I’d call normal.”

“Point taken. Wanna sit down?”

Her brilliant, gorgeous smile was back just like that. “Yeah, let’s sit. Nice place. Not my usual style, but … it serves the purpose for keeping me out of sight, right?”

Lev’s laughter came out dark and husky as he reclaimed his stool, and she took the one on his right. “Sorry, would you have preferred a club?”

She peered his way, and her dark lashes fanned wide with black mascara distracted him from the bartender’s approach with the whiskey sour he’d ordered for Gigi. “I preferred to catch up with you, Lev. I didn’t care where we did it.”

Right.

He would keep that in mind.

“And you remembered, too.”

“What’s that?” he asked.

Gigi winked and pointed at the glass the bartender set on top of a white, monogrammed napkin in front of her. “Whiskey sour. My drink of choice.”

A pointed look from Lev sent the bartender spinning around to head for someone else down the bar when the man opened his mouth like he was going to say something to the woman next to him. Gigi’s light laugh might have embarrassed him for being so possessive over her time and presence but fuck it … he wasn’t going to apologize for it.

“I think he knows who you are,” Lev said, palming the beer on the bar that he’d been nursing long before Gigi arrived. “And I didn’t forget anything about you, Gigi. Not a single damn thing.”

Chancing a look at the woman on his right, Lev found her nibbling on her bottom lip while her striking green eyes lowered to appreciate the tailored fit of his white button-down and how he’d rolled the sleeves up his forearms.

Painted a dusty rose color, her plush mouth threw him back in time without any warning. He could still remember the way her lips felt against his skin. How she kissed him hungrily. All the sounds that mouth of hers could make for him.

Not a date, he told himself. This isn’t a date, Lev.

But she sure looked like it.

“Although to be fair to the bartender,” Lev added in a murmur, “he wasn’t the only man in this place that couldn’t stop staring at you. I think every single man in here—”

“But I was only looking at you, right?”

“At, or for?”

Gigi wet her lips, and drummed her black-painted, stiletto fingernails to the glass in front of her. “Could it be both?”

“I thought you wanted to catch up?”

Unashamed and brazen, her sexy smile turned on him when she replied, “I do … maybe more than I should. Part of me thinks we never really finished what we started, Lev.”

“I didn’t know we started anything.”

“We wouldn’t be sitting in this bar if we hadn’t.”

Well

Lev barked out a hard laugh. A shitty attempt to hide the fact that her words and their frank truth slammed into his chest like a wrecking ball. “All right, let’s catch up.” He spun sideways on the stool, facing her entirely with the beer firm in his palm. He tipped the bottle up for a sip, fully enjoying the way she watched his throat bob with every swallow. Setting it back to the bar but not turning back in his seat, he said, “Tell me all about Gigi Rey, sweetheart.”

Gigi rolled her twinkling eyes and waved a hand high. “Her? She’s nobody.”

“Never heard a worse lie.”

Synopsis

No one believes I was at the wrong place at the wrong time…

Grant it, I kind of get it. I have been found around an abnormally large amount of dead people lately. The thing is, I’m not the dangerous murderer they think I am. If I could tell the truth about my not-so-human father, they’d understand.

But I can’t.

Because his kind shouldn’t be able to breed with humans, and because, well, it’d be an instant death sentence if they found out. So while the prison leaders know I’m not entirely human, they haven’t figured what I am… yet.

Now, I just need to clear my name before someone discovers my secret. If only the four sexy inmates who’ve taken an interest in me understood that I’m not “playing hard to get.”

I’m trying to save my life.

WRAITH CAPTIVE is a prison paranormal reverse harem romance. It’s steamy, humorous, and with just the right amount of an edge. So come join an amazing group of authors in Nightmare Penitentiary, a place you’ll never want to escape from.

My thoughts 💭

Escaping prison is never easy but being shared by a few men is. I enjoyed this book. Elizabeth, Gabriel, Ax and Blade have plans to not be in prison long but forces are trying to keep them right where they are and discover all their secrets. I can’t wait to read what’s next for this group.

Review: Academy Of Sorcery: Year 1: Unleashing Trails by Alexa B. James& Athena Phoenix

Length: 298 pages

Synopsis

Magic is dangerous.

I should know. It got me a thirty-year sentence scrubbing toilets for a scumbag wizard.

My only hope is the Unleashing, a ceremony that unlocks the dormant powers of magical descendants when we turn eighteen. Since my mom was a lowly psychic, I don’t expect to be blessed with much more than the ability to forecast the weather.

But when the sorcerers unlock my magic, all hell breaks loose. Turns out, I’m not a wizard, witch, or even a sorcerer. I’m…something else.

Because of my unique abilities, I’m required to attend the Academy of Sorcery until I learn to harness and control my magic. Not only that, but the three sexiest and most powerful sorcerers on campus are assigned to guard me night and day. Jackpot, right?

Not quite.

Turns out these guys aren’t too happy with the arrangement, and they show it by making my life hell. That’s just the beginning of my troubles. The mean-girl squad declares open season on me, a mysterious woman attacks me every time I step off campus, and my professor is too hot for his own good. And when it’s time to find a weapon to help me master my abilities, my magic chooses… a spork.

It’s going to be a long year.

Good thing I have what it takes to survive it.

My thoughts 💭

I liked this book. I liked the storyline. I didn’t like three “powerful” men being easily manipulated. With a newbie I’d expect it but not with them. Jade should have them grovel she’s kind of too forgiving lol. I liked the tension between her and Darius…forbidden teacher/student!! Yesss! Even with the slight disappointment of the 3 guys I’m still interested in reading how the next book goes.

Blog Tour: Easy To Remember by Bailie Hantam

Wanting to expand his reach, Simon Danbury takes his Lift seminars to Africa. And what better place to start than small town South Africa.

Can the man with no future save the woman without a past?

At seventeen, a tragic accident left Mila Evans, orphaned, with no memory… of either her life before her accident or her true self. Moving forward with life, Mila chose to ignore anything and everything before the accident. Never attempting to even try to remember her past life. That is until she met Tariq and simply living no longer suited her. Tariq made her feel, but more than that he pushed her out of her comfort zone, pushed her to want to remember…

A stupid mistake ruined Tariq’s career as a musician. Since then, he has worked hard as a field agent with Ward Security. There was no need to dwell on the stupid things he did when he was young; Tariq is now saving lives… Making a difference. Until Mila steps into his life and reminds him of his true passion: His love of music and performing.
A threat to Mila will force them to either confront their pasts or sacrifice their future together…

Excerpt

Tariq smiled down at her. “Good choice.”
“You’re not intimidated?” Those expressive green eyes were filled with such excitement, that even if he was, he couldn’t let her down.
“Not in the slightest.” It wasn’t his first choice, but he could do a good Julio if he needed. He could even do the Spanish accent . He narrowed his eyes at her. Yeah, he may just do that.
She nodded; her eyebrows raised. “I’m impressed.”
He walked ahead of her before taking her hand to lead her to the centre of the stage. Mila took a deep breath and looked directly at him.
Tariq closed his eyes as the intro to the song started. He sang the first line, looking directly at her. Her mouth fell open. It was good to know he surprised her. Clearly, she didn’t suspect he could sing. He sang the final line to the audience before turning to her.
Mila lifted the mic to her lips, and Tariq struggled to keep his head in the game. She sang the first of Dolly’s lines and then it was his chance to drop his jaw to the floor. She turned to the audience, as if singing directly at them. She had voice training , that much he could tell. At the chorus she turned to him. Their gazes met . Nothing beyond the two of them and the song existed.
With the next solo section, he couldn’t take his eyes off her while he sang. He wanted to be singing directly to her. The lyrics , some private communication between the two of them. Her solo section was the same. He heard the words and couldn’t imagine anyone else saying them to him.
As the second chorus played, they stepped closer to one another, their bodies merely inches from one another. She closed her eyes as she hit the high notes then rested them back on him. He took her free hand during the refrain. The musical interlude passed with them breathing hard, eyes fixed on another. Tariq didn’t know what was happening but singing with her was about more than music and lyrics.
They shared a connection, a scary one. One he should run away from, but that wasn’t an option. He took a deep breath for the final chorus. They were smiling at each other. Whatever was going on, it was intense. But they were enjoying it. He hadn’t enjoyed music in so long, and it was because of her. They took another step toward each other as they sang the last line of the song, ending with them within kissing distance.
Instead he dropped his mic and whispered in her ear. “Wanna get out of here?”

Review: Midnight Fae Academy by Lexi C. Foss

Length: 331 pages

Published: February 22,2020

Source: Kindle Unlimited

Synopsis

Welcome to Midnight Fae Academy.

Home of the Dark Arts.

Vampires.

And cruelly handsome fae.

A forbidden bite led to my capture and recruitment.

There are no flowers here.

No life.

Only death.

I’m an Earth Fae who doesn’t belong here.

They can play their little mind games all they want, but I’m going to find a way back to my elemental world. Even if it kills me.

Except Headmaster Zephyrus is one step ahead of my every move.

Prince Kolstov won’t stop cornering me.

And Shadow–the reason I’m in this damn mess to begin with–haunts my dreams.

My affinity for the earth is dying and being replaced by something more sinister. Something powerful. Something deadly.

The Midnight Fae believe this is my fate.

They claim that I was “recruited” for a purpose.

To battle a rising presence.

Or to die trying.

I don’t owe them a damn thing. But if I have to pass their trials to find my way home, then so be it. I survived a plague and far worse in the Elemental Fae realm. An ominous energy? Please. What a joke.

Give it your best shot.

I’m waiting.

And don’t you dare bite me.

Or I’ll make you regret it.

Author Note: This is a dark paranormal reverse harem romance, and despite Aflora’s opinions on the matter, there will definitely be biting. Shadow, aka Shade, guarantees it.

My thoughts 💭

I can’t wait to read the next book! Aflora is the Earth Fae heir and an encounter with Shadow a Midnight Fae turns her life upside down with a bite. Zeph and Kols don’t really make things any better by being hot and cold with her. They all want to protect her and it’s clear she’s more than what she thought she was. I enjoyed the riddles, secrets and mating.

Synopsis

Happy Birthday, Raven. Welcome to Noir Reformatory.

Not what every girl wants to hear on her 18th birthday, but I accepted my fate long ago. Once my wings turned black, I knew I’d be stuck behind bars.

A Noir Angel for life.

That’s fine.

I’ll own this prison just like I did back home.

Even if it’s ruled by two hot kings.

This reformatory isn’t all-girls; it’s co-ed. Which means I’m outnumbered ten-to-one by brutes with more brawn than brain. Not a problem. I thrive on aggression and this place is riddled with it. A nightmare wrapped up in an ebony cloak.

Well, bring it on, boys.

Just try and claim me.

Note: This MMF romance novel is part of the Paranormal Prison collection and the start of a brand new “Why Choose” series by USA Today Bestselling Authors Lexi C. Foss & J.R. Thorn.

My thoughts 💭

I liked this book. Raven was born with black wings which just marked her as bad. She’s sent to a different prison when she turns 18 where she meets Sorin and Zian. The guys protect her, improve her fighting and realizes that their mates. After so long they start to question what’s really going on and they get partial answers and have to wait or figure out the rest. I can’t wait to read Novak’s story.

Synopsis

An Arranged Marriage Standalone Mafia Romance.

The first time Cassio met his fiancée, she called him ‘Sir’.

After losing his wife, Cassio is left to take care of two small children while trying to establish his rule over Philadelphia. Now he needs a mother for his children, and someone who can warm his bed at night.

But in a traditional world as his, choosing your wife is duty not pleasure.

Rules have to be followed. Traditions heeded.

That’s how he ends up with a woman—a girl barely of age. She might not be what he and his children need, but she’s wicked lovely and a sweet temptation he can’t resist.

Giulia always knew she’d marry a man her father chose for her. Only she never expected to be given to someone much older.

Suddenly she’s supposed to be a mother to two small children when she hasn’t even held a baby in her life.

Giulia quickly realizes that Cassio isn’t interested in a relationship on equal footing. Her mother always warned her that men of power like Cassio don’t tolerate insolence; yet, tired of being treated as a nanny and clueless child-bride, Giulia decides to fight for her vision of a happy family.

My thoughts 💭

I enjoyed this book. There was a little age gap but I didn’t mind it. Giulia was forced into a marriage to secure her fathers standing but she didn’t let that stop her from fighting for the type of marriage she wanted. Cassio was looking for basically a nanny and he got far more than he deserved with Giulia. They overcame their issues and were able to come together and make a happy family. I definitely recommend this well written and interesting read!
