Farren

Damon came into my life when I needed him the most. I’d never imagined my mate would be the Alpha of the most notorious pack around.

He became my everything, but little did I know my future with him was in danger.

Things were not what they seemed…

Damon

When I allowed a new member to join my pack, I never imagined that she would become mine. Farren was not what I’d expected, and yet she was everything I needed.

Someone was out to hurt her, but they didn’t expect me and my pack to be standing in front of her, protecting her.

Let the hunt begin.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I enjoyed this book, I thought it was a good start to the series. It kept my attention enough that I’d read more from the series. I liked the action and the interactions between Damon and Farren. I loved how their pack/family was open minded!

Teagan Wilde is a pen name for author LeAnn Ashers. Fur Mama by day, author by night, Teagan writes about alpha males who will stop at nothing to protect the women they love.

A Dragon’s Treasure, A Dragon Shifter Fantasy Romance

by Lorelei Moone
Shifters of Black Isle, #3
Publication Date: November 20, 2018
Genres: Adult, Fantasy, Romance, Shifters, Novella, Standalone

AVAILABLE NOW!

SYNOPSIS:

I’m a warrior. No one will tame me, except…

Rhea’s new position as general of Black Isle’s armies brings with it a whole host of challenges. The enemy is at the gates, and he’s furious. Black Isle’s defenses are weaker than she would like, so she sees only one solution: to summon their secret weapon. A creature so untamed and powerful, he has been banished to the depths of the dungeons, only to be let out in the direst of need. To ensure his cooperation, she will need to rely on more than just her combat skills…

The harder she makes it, the sweeter my victory when I claim her.

Saras has been asleep for generations. When a female voice wakes him from his slumber, he knows there’s only one way to avoid the disaster that led him to be confined to the dungeons in the first place. But she’s unwilling and instead hopes to use his considerable powers in battle against Black Isle’s enemy. But a dragon has needs and ignoring them will only end in tears; or in this case, in flames.

No matter how hard Rhea tries to deny it, the attraction between them is hard to ignore. But with the future of the Black Isles on the line, this is hardly the time for romance. Or is it? That’s the thing about playing with dragon fire; sooner or later you’re going to get burned.

A Dragon’s Treasure is the third installment in Lorelei Moone’s brand new fantasy romance series, Shifters of Black Isle. Shifters, magic and relatable characters; set in a mysterious, distant land, where anything seems possible, and yet all its inhabitants hold dear could be destroyed in an instant.

My thoughts 💭

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I liked this book, it has some action and romance. Saras and Rhea were cute together. A flirty dragon and a serious general. Rhea goes to Saras’ prison to get his help with the merpeople. He’s not really interested in getting involved with a war that doesn’t concern him but he’s very interested in what happens to Rhea. I read this as a standalone but I’d read the other books first for better enjoyment of this book.

EXCLUSIVE RELEASE EXCERPT

“I’ve been expecting you.”

Rhea had already been holding her breath, or else it would have been taken away by the sheer majesty of the dragon’s voice. Behind her and Kelly, the door creaked yet again as the fearful guard secured it behind them.

“I am General Rhea, commander of the armies of Black Isle. I’m here to offer you your freedom, in exchange for your help in defeating our common enemy, King Weiland of the Deep.”

The voice laughed. “I have but one enemy, and he’s already in here with me inside this cell.”

Rhea’s heart started to pound and grabbed for the sword on her hip. Oh hell, he thinks we’re a threat.

Kelly, on the other hand, did not flinch at all. She took a step forward, even.

“This is your queen speaking. Why don’t you come into the light so we can speak properly?”

Rhea shot a surprised look in her direction. She had some guts, this witch.

“Be careful, Broc will never forgive me if you get burned to a crisp on my watch,” Rhea warned.

Kelly turned and smiled briefly as her presence entered Rhea’s mind. I’m not sensing any hostility. Treating him as an enemy will only make this negotiation harder.

Rhea grudgingly remembered the discussion they’d had about her so-called leadership style. She wasn’t about to let Kelly’s opinions change how she dealt with her soldiers, but this was uncharted territory. Nobody alive today had ever interacted with a dragon before, and Kelly’s powers did provide certain insights Rhea did not have.

“Please come out.” Rhea rephrased Kelly’s earlier request. “We mean you no harm.”

Laughter erupted from the darkness. “Well, that’s a relief.”

Rhea’s fears turned to frustration. Kelly might not have sensed hostility, but Rhea did not need mind reading skills to pick up on the arrogance in the dragon’s words.

Still, they’d made progress. There was movement in the shadows.

Rhea held her breath as she waited for the dragon to reveal himself.

What she saw shocked her greatly. She had expected scales and talons and a pair of great big wings. But she saw none of that. In front of the two women stood an ordinary man.

Well, perhaps not entirely ordinary.

He had been down here in this dark hole, asleep, for hundreds of years; even the Elders could not be sure exactly how long. Without reprise, without even nourishment. And yet, before them stood a young man in excellent physical shape.

His features were flawless, even boyish. His body… it rivalled even the fittest fighters on the Isles, with one major difference. There was not a single mark, not even a smudge of dirt on him.

He was perfect.

Rhea couldn’t stop staring at him, until she realized he was smirking at her.

“I must have been asleep a long time,” Saras spoke. “I see they have girl soldiers now. Interesting.”

The mockery in his tone pissed Rhea off immediately.

“A little respect would be nice. After all, we’re offering to let you out of here,” she hissed.

Saras laughed again. He was even more gorgeous now, infuriatingly so.

“If I wanted out of here, I would have left a long time ago, dear.”

Rhea stepped forward, her hand still gripping the General’s Sword. “You’ll address me as General Rhea. Not dear, darling, sweetheart, or any other such nonsense.”

Kelly’s mind infiltrated Rhea’s again for a moment.

It might be best to play along with his game, Kelly suggested.

Rhea frowned. What game is that?

He’s been down here on his own a long time. Plus, he’s from a different time. We can’t expect him to know the rules as they are now. If he wants to play, let him.

Rhea folded her arms and sighed. So her esteemed queen wanted her to allow him to treat her as a mere piece of meat. Charming. She preferred to try a different tactic. “Here’s the thing. We’re at war and our weapons alone cannot defeat the enemy.”

Saras took a couple of steps forward, until he was standing right in front of Rhea. He gazed down into her eyes for a moment.

“So? What does that have to do with me?”

She didn’t want it to, but his presence shook her. He was within her reach. She would just need to reach out for him. Smooth, sculpted flesh, a feast for the eyes, and so much more.

And his eyes… For a body so young in appearance, his eyes reflected the sorrow of a thousand lifetimes. She couldn’t stand looking at them for too long.

“Your powers could turn the tide for us. If you’ll help us,” Rhea spoke. Her voice sounded just a bit thinner and breathier than she would have wanted it to.

“And what’s in it for me?” he asked. The corner of his mouth rose in a subtle grin as he glanced down at her lips.

“Your freedom. A full pardon from the king,” Rhea said.

Saras shook his head. “You said that already. Plus, the king isn’t here. Why should I trust a word you speak?”

“I speak for my husband, the king,” Kelly spoke up. “What is it you want?”

Saras glanced over at the queen, then back at Rhea, his expression thoughtful. Then he abruptly turned away and slowly walked back toward the darkest part of the cell again. “I’m not interested. This isn’t my war.”

Rhea couldn’t believe his reaction. “Like it or not, you live on these Isles just as we do. If Black Mountain falls…” Rhea couldn’t bring herself to complete that thought. It wasn’t a matter of if but rather, when.

When Black Mountain falls…

Saras paused with his back turned. “Let them come. It makes no difference to me. Their weapons couldn’t even scratch me if they tried.”

Just like that, Rhea was furious again. “There must be something. Something that’ll change your mind?” Rhea called after him.

“Now that you mention it.” He looked over his shoulder back at her. “I might do it for a kiss from you, beautiful.”

Rhea was aghast. “How dare you speak to me like that! I’ve fought men bigger and stronger than you for less!”

Saras chuckled, then vanished into the darkness. “I very much doubt that. Good luck, General Rhea. With the war, and everything.”

Rhea shook with anger. She ought to go after him, teach him a lesson. Kelly placed her hand on Rhea’s arm, which infuriated her further, so she shook it off.

Uri said it wouldn’t be easy, didn’t he? Let’s give him some time to think it over. Another day in the hole might make him see the benefits of what we’re offering, Kelly suggested.

Rhea scowled. “Guard, open the door! We’re leaving.”

“Farewell, Rhea and Kelly of Black Mountain,” Saras spoke.

Rhea shook her head in frustration as the two of them left in silence. Through the iron door and the brass covered door, as well as the gate.

“That went relatively well,” Kelly mumbled.

Rhea shot her a furious look. “How on earth did that go well?”

Kelly shrugged. “At least he didn’t attack us. It was a discourse, not a fight.”

Rhea scoffed. “If you say so.”

“So what are you going to do?” Kelly asked. “Will you consider his demand?”

Rhea just stared at her blankly. How presumptuous of Kelly to assume that she’d discuss her strategy with a witch. Especially when it concerned something so personal and intimate.

“That’s none of your business.”

Curious… When the door to his cell opened, Saras had not been sure if he was waking or dreaming. He wasn’t even sure what had woken him up, except a persistent feeling that it was time.

And boy, had he been rewarded for his efforts.

Not one beauty, but two of them. Women of nobility, even. A queen, with radiant red hair, outdone only by the fine clothes she wore. She was pretty in her own right, but it wasn’t she who had enchanted him.

No, it was the other one. Rhea. She’d said she was the General of Black Isles’ armies. Whether he believed that, he wasn’t sure. Maybe things had changed a lot since he had gone underground.

Back in the day, females were not enlisted in the army.

Why any man would stand by and watch the fairer sex get slain in battle, he did not know. He wasn’t noble or chivalrous, but even he would lay down his own life in her stead.

Rhea. Dressed in a tight armored bodice and knee high boots. Her outfit was clearly designed to allow for maximum movement and flexibility. It left little to the imagination; still, his imagination was working harder than ever.

She would fuel many a dream. In fact, ever since she had unexpectedly stumbled into his cell, Saras couldn’t think of anyone else. Not even his love, Gillian. Was Rhea to be his new love? Was this finally a sign from the Gods that his crimes had been forgiven and he was offered a second chance?

Of course he hadn’t accepted her terms. He was least interested in fighting a war.

Perhaps it was a mistake to dismiss her so quickly. If she was going to be his redemption, he couldn’t make use of it down here. All he could do here was drift in and out of consciousness, dreaming now of a new woman.

The trouble with dreams was that they had a pesky habit of returning to the same events that had haunted him for so long. Fire and smoke sullied the image of beautiful Rhea. He had to keep on reminding himself that that hadn’t happened yet.

But it so very easily could, though. If he wasn’t careful, he could hurt her, even kill her too.

And then what? Dream of the event for eons to come, full of regret over yet another senseless death? Like he had been doing all this time for Gillian?

Perhaps it was better to stay here. The dreams would come and torment him, of course. But they were just dreams in this case. She would be safe from him as long as he was here.

Saras reasoned and argued with himself on this. Round and round in circles, his mind went. And it kept on arriving at the same two conclusions: as long as he was locked up, she was safe from him. And yet, he wanted her. He yearned for her so badly it made his bones hurt.

What was a lonely dragon to do?

Even though we’d taken on the rules of “human” society, behind closed doors and in our own environments, we were animals and lived by pack law.

Dance Of The Hunter’s Moon
(Sakana Series Bk #3)

Amanda LeMay

Blurb:

Jules Havarr is a Breeder. For her, it’s a problem. Smaller than other wolves, she grew up feeling inferior to her pack mates. It didn’t help that males tended to avoid her, or looked down on her as though she were unworthy of attention. When a visiting Breeder extends an invitation to breed, Jules accepts his offer, even though it means leaving her home, friends, family, and pack behind.

Breeding at the Moon Dance is an honor she can’t refuse.

That is, until the moment she meets Sorin Campion, and a rare and ancient bond binds them together. She knows it in her heart, feels it deep in her soul. This male is her sakana, and she’s all in.

The only problem? The Breeder whose invitation she recently accepted is Sorin’s twin brother.

Sorin is a dead wolf walking. He’s suffered tragedy and heartbreak that left a lasting reminder of all he’s lost burned into his flesh. He’s lived the past few decades barely existing.

Can the sakana bond he shares with Jules awaken him from his misery, and bring purpose and hope back into his lonely life?

While exploring their love for one another, Sorin and Jules are tested by a dangerous ongoing threat to their pack. A dark and vengeful enemy may tear them, and their new found happiness, apart.

Before Sorin, I’d never had a boyfriend. I’d never been in love. I’d never even been kissed.
If he’d taken the chance to save Aliza, we wouldn’t be spending one second in each other’s arms, enjoying anything as simple as the rain, the far-away flashes of lightning and rumble of intermittent thunder.
Because of our ancient, unbreakable bond, what we shared was more than a simple, physical connection. Making love was more than an act of giving and receiving pleasure. Every touch, every kiss, every smile he gave me, healed something inside of me, and slowly but surely erased every negative thought I’d held so close to my heart that kept me from being all I could be. I’d lived my life convinced I was inferior to the members of my pack, a runt with no purpose or place, and no amount of praise or encouragement from those who loved me could make me believe otherwise.
All that changed the second I met Sorin.
My mate.
My sakana.
My broken warrior.
Through our connection, I knew I wasn’t the only one healing. The pain he had lived through for so long was something I wouldn’t wish on anyone.
I made him smile. I made him laugh. I made him want to live again.
More than anything, whatever I gave to him that helped heal his broken heart, he gave back to me, and so much more.
I loved this male. I loved him so deeply, so purely, if something happened to him, if he were to die…I wouldn’t be as strong. The pain of losing him would kill me.
“Sorin…” Warm tears trickled down my face as he turned to pull me into his arms.
He whispered against my lips, “You’re tearing my heart out, beautiful.”
He kissed me, slowly at first with soft, full lips, then deeply, with long, dragging sweeps of his tongue against mine.
I wrapped my arms around his neck and held on as his mouth moved from my lips to my neck, trailing kisses all the way to my mating mark.
“Love you, Juliana. Love you so much.”
Instead of replying, a strangled sob burst from my lungs and I buried my face in his shoulder.
His teeth grazed my skin. “I think it’s time I take you back to bed.”
Sniffling, I nodded. “Yes, it is.”

Surrounded by the rest of the pack as we waited for word from our Alpha, their heightened emotional state was almost overwhelming. With their anxiety battering at me from all angles, it made it difficult for me to deal with what was going on in my own head. The fear and apprehension the pack put off as a collective seemed to fill the air with a strange, bitter taste. It pressed against my skin, soaked through my pores, and rose up in the back of my throat like a sour tang I couldn’t wash away.
Standing in the hall, waiting for my mate, away from the others, I was finally able to catch my breath.
Sorin was on his way. He’d shut his emotions down. And that was okay. I might not have been able to share his emotions, but I felt his power…energy…whatever…and it lifted me, relieved the uncomfortable weight of feeling everything.
It had to be an Alpha thing—another effect of Sorin’s choice that threw me off balance.
The low, whining sound of a car engine came up the road, and with it came Hemming’s Alpha presence. Tipping my head to the side, I listened as the tires sloshed through the mud until it pulled up right next to the door Sorin, Taber, and I had entered through only two nights ago. Car doors opened and closed. Quiet voices murmured. The alarm pad at the inside of the door beeped as someone punched in the security code from the outside. The lock disengaged, then the door swung outward.
Cassia came in, her head bowed, her mother’s arm firmly around her shoulders as she led her shuffling daughter through the hall. I didn’t want to feel what came off Cassia, but knowing she’d been forced to witness what had been done to her friend, I was compelled to open up and focus on her anyway.
I flinched away at what hit me: guilt. Crushing, numbing, guilt.
Of course, she would grieve that way—she’d survived. Whether she carried physical wounds or not, the worst wounds of all were hidden inside, along with a thousand and one different forms of the question why.
I could relate to that. I’d watched my father fight for his life and die before my eyes. And even though no one held me down and made me watch, I didn’t look away.
Still…challenges were part of our culture.
Revenge murders were not.
And that was what Rina’s murder was—retaliation for her taking out one of their brothers. Why they didn’t kill Cassia, we might never know.
I took in a breath and sighed as Hemming came in from out of the darkness, Neeru at his side, both shifting to their human forms just inside the doorway. Seff’s shaggy brown wolf trotted through next, three other wolves behind him, all moving directly to their left and into the showers. No one spoke as they flipped the water on to rinse the mud from their arms and legs.
I pushed away from the wall. My gaze never left the door as I waited for my mate to appear. He was right there—outside the door—pacing.
Hemming’s muddy hand touched my forearm as he passed. “You and Sorin got fifteen minutes. Then I need you both in the dining room.”
I nodded.
Fifteen minutes? Fifteen minutes for what?
On silent paws, Sorin appeared. He slipped through the door and it closed quietly behind him. His big head swung around; his eyes landed on me. A dark brown mask framed his copper eyes and came to a point at the tip of his nose. The brown fur blended into buckwheat honey, the same shade as the hair on his head, as it traveled over his back to the tip of his tail. White belly, legs, lips, and jaws made up the rest of his fur, though, currently, most of his fur was splattered with mud.
Damn, my mate was enormous.
Thick legs, thick shoulders, thick mane around his neck. I wanted to fall to my knees and hug him like crazy, clamp my arms around him and never let go. The wolf in me wanted to roll around on the floor, lick him all over and submit to anything he needed, even if what he needed was to vent his anger by drawing blood. A shiver raced down my spine at the thought of his fangs piercing my flesh. Not that I was afraid. I was so far from fearing anything Sorin might ever do to me.
His head cocked to the side as he sniffed the air, then looked down the hall past me to Taber, and nodded.
“Seff,” Taber shouted. “Let’s go.”
“Just finishin’ up,” Seff called back.
The sound of running water splashing against bodies and wooden slats shut off abruptly, leaving only a quiet drip-drip-drip. Three males emerged, towels wrapped around their waists. Seff appeared from around the corner, tucking the ends of his towel in as he looked at Sorin. He paused for a second while he and Sorin locked eyes and held one of those silent convos for a second or two, before giving a short nod of his head. Seff’s brown eyes moved to me. His lips parted as if he were about to say something, but he didn’t. He didn’t smile, either. Without a word, he clenched his jaw and stared at the floor. I watched as he walked past me. Then he and Taber left the hall.
What the rogues had done to Rina, he’d seen it, but kept the lid on his own emotions nearly as well as Sorin did. I listened as the almost silent footsteps took them out of the room beyond, leaving me and Sorin alone.
Around the corner from where I stood, water came on. I moved into the hall of showers. Sorin stood there, the water raining down on his naked, human body. He’d braced his hands on the wall in front of him, his head bowed deep between his shoulder blades. I set his sweats on top of a stack of clean towels and took a step toward him.
“Sorin—”
“C’mere.”
I didn’t walk.
I ran.
I slammed my little body into his wall of muscle. His arms wrapped around me and pulled me under the hot shower as his mouth claimed mine. Soft lips and warm tongue and I couldn’t care less that I was getting soaked. I smoothed my hands up and down his back, feeling his muscles ripple beneath my fingertips.
He whispered against my lips as he grabbed the hem of my T-shirt and yanked it up over my head. “Need you. Need you now.”
My Thoughts 💭
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This was my first book by the author and I enjoyed it! Jules felt inferior to her pack mates and Sorin was contemplating death. When Jules catches Sorin’s sent it’s instant attraction! Sorin tried to fight it for a while but he had help from his brother to kick his butt into gear. I loved Jules and Sorin, their chemistry was hot! I thought the story was well written, I liked the drama, love and secrets! The book had a lot of likable characters, I’d like to read more of the series for their stories!

Genre: Dark Fantasy Romance
Release Date:

When I was a child he brought me back from the brink of death. Since that day I have borne his mark, a black star in the center of my left palm. The villagers say it brands me as evil. I think it means something far worse. It marks me as his.

The disease that nearly killed me has returned to the village and children are dying. I’m the only one who dares to climb the mountain and learn his secrets. In exchange I’m to clean his house and help with his strange experiments, but Meremon wants more. He wants me. And it isn’t long before I discover that his demands are as twisted as his experiments.
Warning: This story is a dark fantasy romance with scenes of non-consent and dubious consent. Additionally, Meremon is a necromancer and enjoys unusual things. Some sex scenes might be strange or creepy for some readers.

As always with Brianna Hale books, no cheating, and a guaranteed happily ever after. THE NECROMANCER’S BRIDE is a novella of 16,000 words.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was a short, good and creepy Halloween time book. Rhona has been shunned ever since the Necromancer saved her as a child and she ended up with his mark. She ends up going to him to help the kids in her village and he’s pleased his bride came to him. Meremon was actually kind of sweet! He just wanted his bride to be happy and satisfied. I thought it was a well written dark romance. I just wish it would’ve been longer!

There’s nothing Brianna Hale likes more than a large, stern alpha male with a super-protective and caring streak, and when she’s not writing about them she can usually be found with a book, a cocktail, planning her next trip to a beautiful location or attending the theatre. She believes that pink and empowerment aren’t mutually exclusive, and everyday adventures are possible. Brianna lives in London.

My Thoughts 💭

3.5

York decided he wants a mate and goes finds a horrible woman to agree to bond with him on Relon. Sara witnessed the woman’s cruelty and felt bad for York. When York takes Sara home they click and it makes Sara curious about mate bonds. Sara convinces York to bond with her and then their honeymoon begins! York and Sara were okay. They aren’t my favorite couple of the series, they were kind of boring. They both were lonely but found the love they needed with each other. It was a nice story. 3.5✨

I’ve been half in love with Raff for a while and I can’t wait to read his story!
