Synopsis

Noir Rose, a horror and thriller author, always believed that the fictional monsters that she wrote about were just that – fictional. The true horror of the hideous beasts resided only within the gruesome tales she wrote. She never dreamed that reality could be just as cold and cruel as the monsters writhing inside her mind.

With the mysterious arrival of a personal invitation to a masquerade ball, Noir’s life takes a page out of one of her stories.

The Crows have come home.

Men cloaked in secrets and hidden behind white masks, earning them their chilling nickname the Faceless.

Noir should’ve ran while she had the chance, but the Faceless have set their sights on her. Now that they’ve found her, they’ll never let her go. They’ve waited an eternity for her, intent on using her to save themselves from the dark fate of their cursed immortal lives.

Can Noir find a way to stop her fate being tied to their own? Or will she succumb to their dark desires and break through their black hearts, lifting the curse forever? One thing’s for sure, she won’t come out of this the same person.

Because sometimes there’s beauty in the beasts within.

**This is a Dark REVERSE HAREM Stand-alone with explicit scenes, light BDSM, violence, and possible triggers**

My thoughts 💭

This was an enjoyable read with a dark beauty and the beasts vibe. I liked all the characters. I definitely recommend!

Synopsis

Freed from her neurological condition and the suffocating attention of her parents, Kira is a whole new woman, literally. And now she’s on tour with her favourite band, travelling across foreign countries and recording what she sees with the gorgeous Marlow by her side. So, it all should be smooth sailing, right?

Instead she’s thrust into a complex political world where everything is about power and a misstep could be your last. Kira’s no closer to discovering what the mysterious Aen is, or why he’s so interested in her. The tawny Johnno brings with him his own baggage: his band, with every single one of them focussed on one thing: her. She’s gone from fragile human to resilient, somehow powerful fae, but why does everyone want a bite?

So, who does she let close?

Join Kira as she navigates this brand new world and in the process of discovering the fae world and how it works, discovers a whole lot more than she bargained for about herself.

This is book two in a brand new steamy reverse harem series from the author of the Pack Heat series. If you love hot, why choose romance with sexy fae men and a bit of MM, you’ll love Riding for a Fall.

My thoughts 💭

Well I wasn’t expecting that kind of cliffhanger. I’m definitely feeling some type of way but I’m still interested in Kira’s journey…at this point I only love Aen and he better help her wreck stuff because I just can’t with the other guys. Off with their heads! 😩

Synopsis

They’ve haunted my dreams, now they’re coming for me.

I’ve lived in Gisbourne my whole life, feeling like nothing other than a set of symptoms to my family, my town.

Until now

Asked to photograph the outright debauchery of Avalon Records latest launch, I look and I look and I look until finally I see it.

My parents gave me a camera when I was a kid to help me see the truth: there’s no such thing as the fae.

What if they were wrong?

Seriously, what else could these beautiful people be?

My favourite band, the Changelings: a group of bad boys who shine in my lens, so brightly they threaten to burn me up. Why are they taking an unholy interest in me. Hunting me down, luring me closer, using every damn means they have to box me in, tie me down. And for what?

I’m about to step beyond the lens, become something else altogether and I’m not sure any of us are ready for it.

Author note: This is a reverse harem, paranormal, enemies to lovers kind of romance with multiple love interests. 18+ only for steamy goodness.

My thoughts 💭

This was an interesting read. I’m definitely interested in reading more. I liked Kira. Kira finds out she isn’t human after all then falls down the rabbit hole that is the Fae and since she is more powerful than anyone had thought there’s folks out to get her for her power. I have mixed feelings about her bff Jen. I liked this book.

My thoughts 💭

Review:The Librarian & The Beast by SJ Sanders

Length: 242 pages

Published: July 7, 2020

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Source: Kindle Unlimited

Synopsis

Beni has lived a charmed existence in Dunvar Citadel, but one that is coming quickly to an end. When she loses her position as transcriber in the citadel library to a newcomer, she knows that is only a matter of time before the council will insist that she marry. Although she dreads the idea of being one of many wives to her husband, her more immediate and pressing concern is her replacement—a man who is conspiring with the chancellor to weed out non-essential fiction that distract the women workers within the citadel.

In attempt to save the books, Beni herself ends up requiring saving when she falls into a river. Her savior, however, is far beyond anything she ever could have imagined. The Mintar is far from human in appearance and social niceties, he isn’t even particularly friendly, yet he promises to return her safely home. All that is required is a pretense of mating to keep the other males of his clan from courting her. That is certainly no hardship as far as she is concerned, especially not with so much in the village to keep occupied, alien scrolls to explore, and an opportunity to do what she loves. What she doesn’t plan on is falling in love with the stoic male who doesn’t want a mate.

Faltz carries the scars on his body and heart from losing his parents as a calf. Females are frightened by his appearance and he doesn’t consider himself worthy of having a mate and family when his parents died saving him. Caring for a lost human is an annoying inconvenience, but he is determined to see it through and get the feisty female home safely…even if that means deceiving his queen and entire clan by pretending a mating with her. When pretense turns into truth, Faltz’s honor is tested when he is forced to face one fact…when she leaves, how would he continue without her?

Book contains graphic sex and violence

My thoughts 💭

This was an enjoyable read. Beni and Faltz had good chemistry. It took meddling friends and a kidnapping to make them realize they’d rather stay together.

Review: Heart Of Dracula by Kathryn Ann Kingsley

Length: 304 pages

Published: July 1, 2020

Rating:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Source: Kindle Unlimited

Synopsis

Boston, 1897.

Death comes to the city heralded by a crimson moon and screams in the night. The Vampire King has come to claim the city, unless he can be stopped…

Maxine Parker has lived a solitary life. Not because she wishes to, but because she has no choice. Her empathic ability has rendered it impossible for her to touch anyone without killing them.

But as she is thrust into the middle of a war between the enigmatic and alluring Vampire King and three stalwart hunters, she learns she cannot kill what is already dead.

My thoughts 💭

I really enjoyed this book and I can’t wait for the next one! Vlad the terrifying vampire and Maxine the empath who can’t be touched. Vlad and Maxine are both lonely and find that with each other the loneliness fades. But there’s the hunters who want to end Vlad once and for all and all he wants is his Maxine. I can’t wait to read what’s next!

Review: Happily Undead In Dark River by Grace McGinty

Length: 257 pages

Published: January 30, 2020

Rating:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Source: Kindle Unlimited

Synopsis

There was no wake-up call quite like almost exsanguinating your main love interest while being compelled by your unhinged Maker.

No longer hanging onto her past as Mika McKellen, human, Raine was determined to take her new life and live it at one hundred percent. She was no longer an unwilling victim. She was a badass vampire and the (slightly exhausted) lover of several supernatural hotties. She’d been through enough now, so she was ready for a happily-ever-after that was filled with love and rainbows and lots and lots of mind-blowing sex. Sure, there was still the looming threat of an investigation by the ruthless Vampire Nation, but she’d done nothing wrong.

But when her long overdue, first real date with the sexy Sheriff is interrupted by someone bleeding on the floor of the diner, Raine began to wonder if there was even such a thing as happily-ever-after? It sure seemed like the Universe was mad she hadn’t died in that ditch all those months ago.

But no one was unlucky enough to die twice in one year, right?

Happily Undead in Dark River is the second book in the Dark River Days series. This is a cliffhanger-free book with a HEA. May contain romantic elements suitable for more mature audiences.

My thoughts 💭

I liked this book…Raine and her men are entertaining. Raine keeps attracting trouble wherever she goes and a another psychopath is interested in her….severed heads of the enemy isn’t the way to Raine’s heart…I can’t wait to read the next book!

Review: The Devil In Apartment 13 by Tiana Laveen

Length: 145 pages

Published: April 22, 2020

Rating:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Source: purchased

Synopsis

Shahzad Haidar has been called many things… evil, horrid, ghastly, incredible, alarming. The latest label was the usage of the word, ‘Devil.’ However, Shahzad is none of those things – he is a Jinn. But not just any Jinn…

Shahzad is a slick urban genie who runs an empire. His company creates magic and grants wishes under the illusion of being merely for entertainment. However, for the right price, he can make true dreams and even ungodly nightmares come true. Having little interest in human lives other than for financial gain and amusement, he is shocked when an incident occurs that challenges his lackadaisical attitude towards hominids…

Vivian Carver believes her name is synonymous with bad luck. She’s a bartender living smack dab in the middle of NYC and has had it up to here with entitled tourists, an annoying roommate and just barely surviving. She’s forced to move into a cheaper apartment, and with it comes a seedy landlord, drippy faucets and a peculiar stranger in apartment 13.

Shahzad has pulled all the stops to get to know Ms. Vivian Carver, someone who in no shape, form or fashion understands her full potential… She is one of the most beautiful humans he’s ever seen, and he is determined to make her his mate for life. Shahzad however, doesn’t offer just three wishes — he is determined to give her so much more…

Can a black hearted jinn with the world in his palm truly fall in love?

Can a woman with the world on her shoulders see the beauty in a being that teeters the line of good and evil?

My thoughts 💭

I enjoyed this book. Shahzad was all alpha male kind of a jerk but he loved his Vivian. Vivian’s light drew Shahzad and he decided he’d have her and have her he did. Vivian hasn’t had the best of luck but an enamored Jinn turns her luck around and becomes karma for those that have wronged his love. I thought it was an interesting read.
