Synopsis

Nightmare Penitentiary is no joke. The worst of the worst in the paranormal world end up at NP, and I just got sentenced there.

For others, this might be cause for freaking the hell out. But for me, it’s a fucking relief.

You see, I’ve been sold off to the big bad asshole, Alpha Bowen – thanks mom and dad! But if they think I’m going to go quietly, or at all, they haven’t been paying attention to how I roll.

Nightmare Penitentiary is the perfect place to escape, and I’m ready. If only people would stop trying to break me out. Seriously, it’s annoying.

I’m ready to relax and serve my sentence, but then I meet the prison guard, Rook. I can’t seem to escape his heated stares, the head wobbles, or the dimples. Sweet pop rocks, the dimples!

You’re not supposed to meet the male of your dreams in prison, but tell that to fate. Too bad I’m not as out of reach from the troubles hunting me down as I thought… and now, there’s nowhere to run because, like, I got myself imprisoned. FML.

My thoughts 💭

I loved this book! Sinclair was absolutely crazy and Rook was taken along for the ride. Their story was entertaining and I couldn’t stop reading. Like Sinclair’s games were crazy but absolutely hilarious.

Synopsis

Things are heating up at Felidae Academy.

Literally, in Ella’s case–as if her arch enemy trying to kill her wasn’t enough.

Then again, with the incredibly gorgeous Bishop and her lifelong crush vying for the right to court and claim her, maybe it’s not all that bad.

If two toms is company, three is definitely a crowd, but knowing that can’t quench Ella’s thirst for the forbidden knowledge her professor has to impart.

Sterling, Axel and Bishop are definitely up for the task of getting Ella through the semester in one piece, but the future Empress needs more than just a trio of worshipful toms. She needs Kings, and only time will tell if her wild toms can be brought to heel.

Feral is the second book in the Cats of Felidae Academy series, a feline shifter world revolving around a heroine with a magical destiny. This Cinderella retelling includes an enemies-to-lovers pairing, a university-age student having a relationship with her professor, and in true RH fashion, she’ll have all her guys by the end of the series. This is a slow-burn reverse harem. All characters are 18+.

My thoughts 💭

This was an interesting read. I can’t wait to read what’s next. Ella is finally growing a spine and Axel isn’t sure how to handle it. Bishop isn’t really the sweetheart I thought he was and Sterling is just yummy and a voice of reason. Their chemistry is hot. The guys have to put away their possessiveness and jealousies to satisfy Ella and I loved it. The cliffhanger comes before you know

Excerpt

He pulled her into his arms. “Good night, Mila.”
She looked up at him, frowning. “What? All that build up. I thought we’d—”
“Screw each other’s brains out?” He didn’t let go of her. “I told you, I want to enjoy you. I want to savour you.”
Mila pulled her bottom lip between her teeth. “So, this is a marathon, not a sprint.” Which was fine, except she was horny as hell.
He tilted his head. “More or less.” He lowered his head to hers, his lips millimetres from hers. “There will be sex. If I have my way, lots of it. But you’re tired.”
She nodded and lifted her face to him. He lowered his face to her. His lips brushed hers before pressing against her mouth. The kiss deepened and ignited her entire body. She had to restrain herself from mounting him. He threaded his hands through her hair, and she let out a gasp, opening her mouth to him. Their tongues danced; the world disappeared. He pushed her against the door, holding her up as she melted into him. His erection was hard and large against her belly. Too soon, he pulled away. They were both panting as he held on to her while she found her footing.
Yeah, they were going to have to take things slow if they were going to enjoy each other. Because , wow, that kiss was explosive. It was more than she imagined, and it still left her wanting more.
He let go of her. “Sweet dreams, Mila.”

Review: When The Saint Falls by A.D. McCammon

Length: 298 pages

Published: January 16,2020

Rating:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Synopsis

Thatcher Michaelson is a bully.

Arrogant. Cruel. Ruthless.

And the most attractive guy I’ve ever laid eyes on.

He’s the rebel of Westbrook high, and I’m merely the annoying goody two-shoes he dubbed the saint.

There must be something wrong with me. After nearly two years of dirty looks and constant humiliation, I’m still crushing on the guy who hated me on sight.

Then he kissed me and instead of the ice-cold gaze I was accustomed to, I saw passion burning behind his dark molten eyes.

Violet St. James doesn’t belong in my world.

Good. Kind. Pure.

She’s everything I’m not.

She doesn’t just look like an angel, she is one. And I’ve fought every impulse to make her mine.

But all my efforts went up in flames the second I tasted her sweet lips. My inability to stay away has changed everything.

She’s determined to break down all my walls, but my little saint doesn’t understand the consequences of her actions.

She tells me she’s not afraid of the fall.

But she should be.

My thoughts 💭

This was a pretty good read. Thatcher is a bit of a jerk towards Violet but it’s not really a secret they want each other. Both characters kind of annoyed me at times with Violet being kind of whiny and Thatcher being hot and cold towards Violet. They are in high school so it made sense. I was glad when they finally got their issues sorted. They were good for each other. Overall it was an enjoyable read.

Review: Malady by Natalie Bennett

Let’s play a game…

Words can be powerful things, and those four just granted me a golden ticket straight to hell.

Two beautifully deranged boys have decided I’m their next acquisition.

To make things fair they give me a chance to save myself.

All I have to do is beat them at a few games of their choice.

Truth or dare.

Hide and seek.

Simon says.

Seems simple until you account for the bloodied twist they each have.

They say in all chaos there’s calculation.

For my sake I hope that’s true because if we’re going to play, I’m playing to win.

Malady is a complete novel. There’s no cliffhanger, but it must be read after Crucible.

Calamity–Standalone

My thoughts 💭

This was an enjoyable but twisted read. Kaiden and Jace are absolutely crazy. Rae had no chance to win the game. I’m interested in what sort of training they had for Rae or if she’ll ever get a chance to run or revenge. The ending made me feel like something was missing. I feel like she deserves to make them sweat for a bit with how they did her and all.

Synopsis

Leaving Fletch: A Novella was written by USA Today Bestselling & Multi-Award Winning Author Xyla Turner

Cheyenne:

My husband did it again. Cheated twice, and he was sloppy with his escapades, which left me and my acting career vulnerable. I just wanted to escape. Go to a small town and hide.

I found a tribe of older ladies, who were way too nosy and nastier than expected. Then I found a man who was way too sexy and gruff for his own good.

It didn’t matter, though. We were from two different worlds.

Fletch:

The woman floated into town, then inside my bar, asking for high-end drinks. I gave her a beer. A regular ole beer. That’s what we drink. Who did she think she was?

A Princess.

Come to find out, she was. My princess.

I couldn’t keep her, though. She was destined for far greater than my small town. The very same one, I vowed never to leave.

This is a quick, IR, BWWM and HEA novella. #standalone

My thoughts 💭

This was an interesting read. Shy and Fletch have both had their share of heartbreak. They find themselves in bed together then on the fast track to love. I enjoyed this steamy story!
