In my world, you need to be the biggest and baddest in order to survive and I’m the biggest and baddest there is. Men fear me as if I am death himself and women want me as if I am a gift from the gods. I am the great elf Assassin and the last of my kind. So, what’s my secret to surviving in the Locke? It’s simple: don’t form attachments and never get involved in other people’s problems. I’ve lived by those rules for centuries. But, one chance meeting with a doe-eyed little girl changes everything. One decision sets me on a cataclysmic journey.

Safe, predictable, boring Lilly. That’s what my friend calls me. She also says I’m the last living twenty year old virgin. She may be right. But all of that changes when I get one night with a handsome stranger. What could go wrong?

One Decision alters their future.

One Decision sets their path.

One Decision may save their world.

This is the complete story.

This book contains sex and strong language and is not recommended for readers under 18.

My thoughts 💭

I enjoyed this book! It had the drama, villain, Love, betrayal and a woman nobody deserved. Lilly was a sweetheart and I absolutely loved her. I definitely recommend this book, it gave me all the feels!

She’s a city girl and I’m married to the mountains… there’s no way this will ever work.

Hiking, cold weather, and cabins in the woods are not my thing. But when my two best friends beg me to join them for a trip to the mountains, I cave.

“It’ll be fun,” they said.

“You need to get out more,” they said.

Everything was fine until I realized it’s all a setup. A weekend-long blind date orchestrated with the help of their boyfriends. To say I’m annoyed is an understatement. But then he shows up, looking like a lot more than a tall glass of milk. And soon, I begin to feel that maybe this isn’t a bad idea after all.

There’s only one problem. He doesn’t seem to know he’s here to meet me. Which would be cool if I could just move on and forget I nearly made a fool of myself. Mother nature has other plans and sends a bad storm our way, locking us all in a potentially uncomfortable situation.

AVALANCHE is a BWWM blind date gone wrong novella. Previously released in the Emerging Temptation boxed set and now with a BONUS chapter and epilogue.

My thoughts 💭

This was a good read. Ariya is set up on a blind date by her friends and it doesn’t go as planned but works out well in the end. Her girls were kind of mean for not getting all info and pictures up front! Xander is sweet but he felt kind of weak to me until his reasoning for being so hesitant to start something with Ariya came out. I liked their happily ever after.

Tired of dealing with the sexist, dominant men at her corporate job, Samantha Wilde started her own company. After hearing some life-altering news, she literally bumps into a man who knows what he wants regardless of her situation and is willing to pursue her no matter the costs.

Joshua Kelly is a successful business man. He has Samantha in his sights for not only business, but pleasure! He makes her a business proposition that she tries to refuse, then he moves in for the kill with a relationship proposal. She is almost helpless to stay away from him, because he represents the type of dominant man that she wants to avoid but his touch is addictive. Maybe this kind of dominant isn’t so bad.

This story is about the realities of sexual encounters and how to move on from what you cannot change. Based loosely on a many true stories.

***Standalone Novel, BWWM, Interracial Romance***

My thoughts 💭

I enjoyed Samantha and Joshua’s story. Samantha did get a bit annoying with her running and not considering Joshua’s POV in some situations. They complimented each other well besides that. This was an enjoyable read & I definitely recommend!

He no longer believes in the lore surrounding the Prophecy of Old, but all that changes when he sees Amani and discovers the stories about True Mates are real.

A BWWM Paranormal Romance. For mature audiences.

My thoughts 💭

This was an interesting read. I can’t wait to read what’s next. Ella is finally growing a spine and Axel isn’t sure how to handle it. Bishop isn’t really the sweetheart I thought he was and Sterling is just yummy and a voice of reason. Their chemistry is hot. The guys have to put away their possessiveness and jealousies to satisfy Ella and I loved it. The cliffhanger comes before you know it.

Leaving Fletch: A Novella was written by USA Today Bestselling & Multi-Award Winning Author Xyla Turner

My husband did it again. Cheated twice, and he was sloppy with his escapades, which left me and my acting career vulnerable. I just wanted to escape. Go to a small town and hide.

I found a tribe of older ladies, who were way too nosy and nastier than expected. Then I found a man who was way too sexy and gruff for his own good.

It didn’t matter, though. We were from two different worlds.

The woman floated into town, then inside my bar, asking for high-end drinks. I gave her a beer. A regular ole beer. That’s what we drink. Who did she think she was?

A Princess.

Come to find out, she was. My princess.

I couldn’t keep her, though. She was destined for far greater than my small town. The very same one, I vowed never to leave.

This is a quick, IR, BWWM and HEA novella. #standalone

My thoughts 💭

This was an interesting read. Shy and Fletch have both had their share of heartbreak. They find themselves in bed together then on the fast track to love. I enjoyed this steamy story!

He was the boss from hell. Overbearing, egotistical and rude. He ridiculed everything about me from how I dress, to my hair and even my plus size figure. I hate him. The only thing nice about that man was his outside appearance and damn was it nice to look at, everything else especially his personality was a throw away. Ready to hand in my two weeks notice, there’s a significant shift in his personality. That’s when I see that everything is not as it seems.

She was the employee from hell. Big ass, big legs and big breasts. She was downright sexy and I did everything I could too keep my attraction from showing. It was excruciatingly difficult, but I did it. It was all going so well, until one day she tried to leave me. I couldn’t have that. I needed her there. She was the bright spot in my life. My Angel. My everything. If she thought she could leave me then she had another thing coming, because she has no idea just how vital her presence is. I think it’s time I show her just how important she is to my sanity.

My thoughts 💭

I enjoyed this book! Channing’s obsessed with Angel but hasn’t been the nicest to her. Angel is fed up and tries to resign but Channing won’t let her. He confesses his feeling but Angel is wary and rightfully so. They are cute together but Channing’s secrets come to light and Angel struggles with the deception. Their story had me hooked from beginning to end! I can’t wait to read the next book!

My thoughts 💭

I enjoyed Royal and Mack’s story. Royal was able to break free of her family who wanted her to be anything other than herself. She ends up saving Mack’s life and finds he has a similar situation. They end up falling in love and it was adorable. I loved their chemistry. I also loved their friends!

Review: Crayson by Xyla Turner

Crayson and Nikita experience a traumatic event as a police officer and a black woman. It was not good, it went viral and seven years later they deal with the aftermath.

He was looking for atonement and he thought he found it, until seven years later. Nikita lands right in his lap, but she wants NOTHING to do with him. Neither of them believes in coincidences, but will they explore how the event has shaped them or pursue more of who they could be as a unit?

If you’re a Xyla Turner reader, you know that she pushes the envelope with the unlikeliest characters to press their way to love. Give it a try. You might be surprised.

BONUS: Read the first chapter of the upcoming novel, James: Across the Aisle Series.

My thoughts 💭

This was an interesting book. Crayson and Nikita were cute. Crayson didn’t care about how they first met just how they were going to go further. He knew what he wanted and was willing to go for it. Nikita wasn’t expecting their spark to be so strong and even though she was nervous she was all in. I enjoyed their story and definitely recommend!

Review: Duncan’s Pride by Xyla Turner

Length:136 pages

Published: October 5, 2019

I can handle it, I said.

Duncan can handle it, I said.

We can handle it, I said.

Shit, we can’t handle it. We said…

Portia had this undeniable belief that the two of us having a child would be a good thing. She had no evidence to confirm these suspicions, but I had first-hand experience. Therefore, I charted what having children would mean for my mental sanity. The percentage was low. It was especially low for my wife.

Also, I did not factor twins into the calculations.

Author’s Note: This is a novella and readers should read Book 1, Trent and must read Book 2: Duncan as those characters are heavily intertwined into Duncan’s Pride. Cameos by Mr. Vega and Faith, Trent and Bernie. Also, this book, specifically the Hero, is a bit different than a typical Xyla Turner book. It is IR, BWWM, and HEA, but Duncan is a different kind of perfect. I hope you give him another chance.

My Thoughts 💭

This was a sweet read! Duncan and Portia have twins and both of them have their own meltdowns. I still love Portia and Duncan! This was a really good addition to their story! I can’t wait to read the next book!

Giorgio Pozza is known by many names—beast, monster, grim reaper. Born in secret and hidden within the forests of Russia, he was trained to kill. Raised to kill. Death and destruction are virtually the only things he has ever known or cared for…until he meets Mo.

Mo is warm and affectionate. She’s also a contract killer. Disguised as an exotic dancer, she infiltrates a clandestine, underground Russian strip club in search of the target of her newest kill order—billionaire heir and prodigal son, Mischa Ivanovich.

While onstage, Mo scopes out the club and notices only three other bounty hunters present, and it’s three she knows she can easily overpower. At least, if they are foolish enough to get in her way. But when she gets close enough to Mischa to stick her blade into his neck, she realizes her mistake. There was one more, lurking in the shadows, and it’s the man whose name reverberates fear.

However, in those dark, secret tunnels beneath the city of Moscow, a fighter’s intensity turns into lust. A killer’s rage becomes raw passion. Mo’s solo mission turns into an unexpected, erotic weekend in a luxury hotel suite. And it is there, after her one-night stand with a killer, she begins to realize how much more there is to her dark knight, and how quickly she has gone from being his adversary…to being the target of his desire.

Hot, steamy romance, suspense and action all come together in this highly anticipated series standalone. Note: The Dark Knight can be read without first completing the other novels in the series. After this book, however, look for Gage: The Wolf. You’ll want to.

My Thoughts 💭

I absolutely loved Gio and Mo! Two assassins fall in love and it’s soooo adorable! I enjoyed this books twists and turns and action! I definitely recommend!
