Release Blitz/ ARC Review: The Black Fox by Brianna Hale

Title: The Black Fox
Collection: The Dirty Heroes Collection
Author: Brianna Hale
Genre: Dark Romance Novella
Release Date:
For fifteen years I was the Black Fox, the hero of Spain, the good-luck devil. I made my enemies dance to my tune and fall to my sword.

The day must come when every hero hangs up his cape, and for me, it was the day I outsmarted the curse. I would not die for love, because I didn’t love the woman I married. Valeria Hernandez didn’t love me.

Then I met her. Lolita. Fresh from boarding school, as beautiful as a rose’s thorn and poised to pierce my heart. Little Lo is as dangerous as sin and twice as forbidden. She hates me, but she loves her Black Fox. Her savior. Her devil in black.

How he loves to hear her call him daddy.

Author’s note: The Black Fox is a novella of 25,000 words. This book contains cheating.

My thoughts 💭

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I enjoyed this dirty short read! The story line was interesting and kept me hooked! Zacarias wants a peaceful retirement but after meeting his stepdaughter Lolita he knows that’s no longer an option.

There’s nothing Brianna Hale likes more than a large, stern alpha male with a super-protective and caring streak, and when she’s not writing about them she can usually be found with a book, a cocktail, planning her next trip to a beautiful location or attending the theatre. She believes that pink and empowerment aren’t mutually exclusive, and everyday adventures are possible. Brianna lives in London.

Forewarning, this isn’t a cookie cutter romance. This isn’t about love. This is a story of brutal possession in a world without morals. Enter at your own detriment. 😉
Luce came so very close to beating his dad as #1 in my heart! I absolutely loved him and how he knew what he wanted and made it happen. Star was the perfect light to his dark. She’ll make a good queenie. This story sucked me in from beginning to end. And I definitely recommend it! It was so damn good I had to have the paperback!

With a penchant for (writing) villainous immoral men, and a tendency to deviate away from traditional happily ever afters, Natalie Bennett is an international bestselling author of twisted and unconventional love stories.

When she’s not slaying words she’s somewhere in the sunshine state, happily taking life one curve-ball at a time.

Synopsis

GEMMA

He stole my first kiss… and now he thinks everything else is his.

I said no to the one person no one at this school dares to refuse.

Now I’m targeted by jealous girls, guys that compete to be the first to “break the prude”, and by him. After one kiss, the king of the school hunts me down like I’m a conquest to win. He’ll have to fight harder than that, because I’m no one’s trophy.

They all want a piece of me, but I will not bend or break for them.

LUCAS

No one refuses the king.

One case of mistaken identity and a hasty kiss turned my world upside down.

The new girl refused me. Not only that, she threw down the gauntlet. That won’t stand. No one ever says no to me. This school is mine and she’ll learn her place as a loyal follower or her life is going up in flames.

I’ll make her say yes. She’ll be screaming it before I’m finished breaking her.

Warning: Wicked saint is a dark new adult high school bully romance intended for readers 18+. This book is part of a series but can be enjoyed as a standalone. This mature new adult romance contains dubious situations and intense sexual/violent content that some readers might find triggering or offensive. Please proceed with caution.

My thoughts 💭

This was a good read. I wouldn’t mind reading more of this series. There’s more to Lucas than the show he puts on and he realizes he can’t continue the show and get the girl he wants.

Review: Yce by A.G. Wilde

Length:221 pages

Rating:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Source: Kindle Unlimited

Synopsis

When she’d left the gym to head home for a quiet night, the last thing she’d expected was to be abducted by aliens to then be thrown into a fight for life and survival aboard an alien slave ship.

Now that chapter is over and there’s another obstacle in her way—surviving on a desert planet where everything lives to kill…all the while dealing with him…

Yce.

The alien she’s stuck with.

He’s otherworldly, strange, and absolutely confusing.

She hates him and the feeling seems to be mutual.

Problem is, they are stuck in each other’s company until they reach the outpost to send a message for help.

Aliens are the reason she’s in this predicament and Yce is probably no better than her captors…

Except he is…he is very different…and that’s something not even hate can ignore.

This book contains mature themes and sex.

My thoughts 💭

I liked Diana and Yce’s story. They both try to deny their feelings for each other until they can no longer fight it and it was cute.

Review: Angry God by L.J. Shen

Synopsis

From #1 Amazon Bestseller L.J. Shen comes a new, emotional standalone about first love, second chances, and overcoming breathtaking losses at a young age.

Vaughn Spencer.

They call him an angry god.

To me, he is nothing but a heartless prince.

His parents rule this town, its police, every citizen and boutique on Main Street.

All I own is a nice, juicy grudge against him for that time he almost killed me.

Between hooking up with a different girl every weekend, breaking hearts, noses and rules, Vaughn also finds the time to bully little ole’ me.

I fight back, tooth and nail, never expecting him to chase me across the ocean after we graduate high school.

But here he is, living with me in a dark, looming castle on the outskirts of London.

A fellow intern. A prodigal sculptor. A bloody genius.

They say this place is haunted, and it is.

Carlisle Castle hides two of our most awful secrets.

Vaughn thinks he can kill the ghosts of his past, but what he doesn’t know? It’s my heart he’s slaying.

Angry God is a stand-alone, DARK High School Romance. It deals with sensitive subjects some may find triggering.

My thoughts 💭

This book was absolutely amazing and gave me all the feels! It’s dark but it’s sooo good. Lenora and Vaughn are both crazy but they are perfect for each other! I definitely recommend reading this!

Priv·i·lege: having special rights, or immunities. Societal and social advantage.

For Riley McLeon, ignorance is bliss. As the daughter of a single cop with a history of shooting first and asking questions later, she’s grown up sheltered. He taught her everything she knows about life, love, guns, and the world as he sees it. And all he ever asked from her was a promise: she would never date a man of color.

Ra·cist: a person who shows or feels discrimination, prejudice, or antagonism against people of other races, or who believes that one’s own race is superior.

Lincoln Sanders knows all too well about the skin deep judgments people make. He knows what it is to lose everything, to be haunted by the impossible. He knows pain. He knows hate. And he definitely knows trouble when he sees it.

Chance: to take a risk. A possibility of something happening.

Silence comes easily when the whole world is against you, and being together is an act of bravery neither Lincoln or Riley think they’re capable of. Loving each other feels like coming back to life, but you can’t move forward if you’re living in the past.

When you unlearn everything you’ve ever known, you can become fearless.

Synopsis

Joining with my Alphas has changed me at my most basic levels. I can’t seem to control my powers, but with Jeren, Kyte, and Ceredes at my side, I think I’ll eventually stop with the accidental outbursts of lethal energy. Hopefully. But my powers aren’t the only problems: I have an Omega who wants me dead, a Sentient who is still trying to kidnap me, and an undeniable need to mate with my Alphas.

The entire fleet is slowly reaching a boiling point as the Sentient threat grows, and when they attack and take someone dear to us, the circle vows to fight back. But as the council of regents begins to fracture, secrets slip through the cracks. When I discover the truth, will I be able to withstand it, or will the circle break under the weight of my past?

This book was just as entertaining as the first! Lana, Kyte, Jeren& Ceredes won’t let anything or anyone come between them and their circle. Lana has difficulty controlling her new powers but those who want her to succeed help her train. There’s some scheming and a traitor in their midst and it always comes from one you’d least expect. Synopsis

I have blood on my hands.

Blood that isn’t mine.

I had thought I had escaped my past. I had thought I had finally freed myself.

But can you really escape your monsters?

With a gang war looming on the horizon, bodies piling up, and a strange new student claiming ties to the Shadow Man, I find myself looking into my past.

Will I be able to uncover the mysteries surrounding my upbringing and the Shadow Man?

And what if the monster that needs to be stopped is me?

This is a reverse harem slow-burn horror novel. It is the second in a series. This book WILL END IN A CLIFFHANGER. If that bothers you, please wait until all books are released. With this style of series, not all questions will be answered every book, and more might pop up along the way. At the end of the series, there will be a HEA for Cami and her guys.

WARNING: This book contains language, violence, horror themes, and sexual situations that may not be appropriate for people of all ages.

My thoughts 💭

The creepy goodness continues in book 2. That cliffhanger had on the edge of my seat! The guys have accepted they are apart of Cami’s harem and are all in with her and finding answers to why she’s haunted by the shadow man. I enjoyed this book.

I feel like I should say I DNF book 3 of the series. It got uninteresting for me.

Synopsis

When I was three-years-old, I was found homeless in the woods, alone and feral.

When asked how I survived all of those years by myself, I had one answer: the Shadow Man.

I have no memory of that time. No memory of anything, really, before the accident. I rely on stories from my fathers about this supposed imaginary friend.

Got into a fight at school? The Shadow Man made me. Stole from a store? He forced me to. Snuck out of the house? He came with me.

I had almost completely forgotten about him.

Until I move into the horror house – the house rumored to be a gateway to hell. Strange things keep happening, and I am helpless to prevent them.

More importantly, people keep dying.

Particularly, people that harm me.

It’s already a struggle to survive a new high school and town (including the attention of a dangerous gang), but now I have to survive ghosts too?

One thing becomes painstakingly clear:

The Shadow Man wants me to come home.

This is a young adult, slow-burn, horror reverse harem romance. It is the first in a series and WILL end in a cliff-hanger!

My thoughts 💭

This book was creepy and good! I was hooked from beginning to end and I can’t wait to find out what’s next for Cami!
