The friendship formed during tragedy begins to grow into something more. But Mack has a secret that could push Royal away for good.

Royal and McKennon are up against more odds than most would be willing to deal with. But can the bond they made that night on a lonely stretch of highway be enough to hold them together? Or will it all come burning down?

The Bravest Hero… The highly anticipated follow-up to The Red Scot and 2nd book in the Curvy Girls Club series!

My thoughts 💭

I enjoyed Royal and Mack’s story. Royal was able to break free of her family who wanted her to be anything other than herself. She ends up saving Mack’s life and finds he has a similar situation. They end up falling in love and it was adorable. I loved their chemistry. I also loved their friends!

Synopsis

Lions, tigers and jaguars are just the beginning of Ella’s problems…

As an unremarkable stray left out on the streets, Ella thought she’d finally found a family in the Hill pride. Instead, she found herself living as a glorified maid, serving the future King of the colony himself.

Axel is rude and careless at best. At worst? He’s downright cruel, and he seems to take personal delight in reminding Ella that she’ll never belong. Too bad her heart never got the memo.

Axel and his perfect girlfriend are all but destined to rule the colony, but when the Unveiling comes around, it’s Ella who’s chosen as the next Empress by the moon itself.

And the claws are out.

Now every tom in the colony is vying for Ella’s attention, including bad boy Axel, the current Empress’ gorgeous son Bishop, and a mysterious Academy professor named Sterling whose ice blue eyes are every bit as dangerous as his caustic wit.

Choosing between the three of them is hard enough, but an inconvenient heat has other ideas. Ella’s sure she’s living her own Cinderella story. She’s just not sure if she’s the princess or the mouse.

My thoughts 💭

This was a good start to the series. I just wish a little more would’ve happened before the cliffhanger. Ella is a stray who isn’t treated very well and she’s chosen to be the next Empress to the shock of most people. Ella is a sweetheart who’s just trying to make it through academy but jealous and scared folks are being kind of ridiculous. Ella is the next chosen Empress and everyone is going to treat her like a pariah…Axel is a selfish jerk but I liked Bishop and Sterling and wanted her to choose them but maybe next book.

Synopsis

What do sexy fae lords, a vampire assassin, and a mysterious castle have in common?

Yours truly.

Yeah no, I did not plan this.

When my bestie and I opened a fabulous bakery, I planned to live a long life shoving pumpkin muffins into my face hole and working them off during my self-defense class.

But when a castle full of ridiculously gorgeous immortals showed up on the ley line running through my small town outside Nashville, my life changed.

A lot. Like a lot, a lot.

Because of an ancient curse, the immortals can’t leave the castle without turning to ash. But when the most powerful fae lord uses his seductive power to lure me close, to psychically feed on my aura, he successfully steps out of the castle for the first time.

Now the fae want all of my supposedly special blood to break the curse. Until I can somehow shove the immortals back into whatever magical hole they crawled out of, my life is forfeit.

I have a plan. But said plan didn’t account for the insane feelings I’m starting to have for the alpha of the group…

FAE CURSE is the steamy first book in the Yew Queen Trilogy, and it’s perfect for KF Breene, Laura Thalassa, Annette Marie, Linsey Hall, and CN Crawford fans!

If you like fated mates, enemies-to-lovers, snarky heroines, hot vampires, and seductive fae, then click to buy and begin this fantastical new series today!

My thoughts 💭

This book was interesting but I have mixed feelings about it. It was well written but idk. I’m definitely interested enough to read the next book.

Synopsis

Let me ask you a question:

If someone is vying for your spot on a team and just so happens to injure you during practice, would you believe it was on purpose?

Word around campus is . . . it was no accident.

That injury has cost me everything; my starting position, my junior year—and the draft. Now, I’m a senior fresh off recovery, struggling to find my groove, until the day I run into a nervous, fidgety, girl with freckles, in the dining hall.

They call Milly Potter The Baseball Whisperer, The Diamond Wizard, and The Epitome of All Knowledge. She believes in baseball. She breathes it. She’s the queen of an infamous dynasty, but no one actually knows who she really is, and she plans to keep it that way.

One mishap in the panini line, one miscommunication in the weight room, and many failed attempts at an apology equal up to one solid truth — Milly Potter never wants to speak to me again — no matter how good my forearms look.

Little do we both know, she’s about to become more than just my fairy ballmother.

My thoughts 💭

I loved this book even though the last few chapters had me in tears! This book gave me all the feels! I laughed and cried and wanted to punch Carson in the throat. Milly knows baseball. Carson needs her and he gets her and they are the most adorable couple ever! Then tragedy comes along and makes everyone cry until they kiss and make up. I definitely recommend this book!

Review: Sugar Plum by Jenika Snow & Isabella Starling

Length: 108 pages

Published: December 26, 2019

Rating:⭐️⭐️⭐️

Source: Kindle Unlimited

Synopsis

My sugar plum was all grown up and more forbidden than ever.

Holly Halliday was twenty years old and deliciously curvy.

My best friend’s daughter.

Too young.

Off-limits.

I’d kept my desires buried for the last two years, but now, with her realizing the effect she had on me, I was struggling to stay away.

But this holiday season, Holly was especially irresistible, and there was no way I could say no to my desires any longer. I find myself breaking the vow I made with myself not to be with her. Holly’s learned to use her womanly charm, and the moment those lace panties found their way under my pillow, I was a goner.

There was no way I was keeping my distance, and I’d know how sweet Holly really is.

Sugar Plum is a father’s best friend romance. Sugary sweet and self-indulgent, this novella is the perfect bite-sized treat to enjoy on a cold winter evening!

My thoughts 💭

This was an okay read for me. It was short and steamy. I just wasn’t able to love how Holly wanted Bastien so much but after they finally do what she’s been wanting she starts to feel bad about going behind her dads back. She wasn’t worried about it before then. But I did like their happy ending.

Review: Ho Ho Hennessy by Jamie Begley

Length: 116 pages

Published: December 23, 2019

Rating:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Source: Kindle Unlimited

Synopsis

F*ck Mistletoe.

Screw Jingle Bells.

Ho-ho-ho can kiss my a$$.

Who in the hell drinks mulled wine anyway?

Instead, reach for a damn shot of Hennessy to keep you warm this holiday season.

Finding himself at The Last Riders’ clubhouse was the last place Hennessy planned to be during the holidays. He hated snow, hated wrapping gifts, and he preferred his Harley over a sleigh. He and the Grinch were more than best friends; they were brothers. And he had planned to ride out the holiday fa-la-la-ing his a$$ to Florida …

… Until a curvy cutie had him sinking to the depths of playing a naughty game of Dirty Santa that he’d had no intention of playing.

The rules were simple:

Guess who’s sending you the naughty but nice notes or you get a lump of coal in your stocking. If you got three lumps, then you were s*it out of luck, because there would be no sex until after Christmas.

The 12 days of Christmas have never quite been spent like this …

My thoughts 💭

Any book with the Last Riders in it is a must read! Hennessy is a bit of a grinch but Arin knows what she wants for Christmas and she plans on getting it! This was an enjoyable holiday read.

Review: Ungrateful Roommate by Layla Stone

Length: 67 pages

Published: November 22, 2019

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Source: Kindle Unlimited

Synopsis

Finding the right roommate is hard.

Staying polite when a Demon is being rude to you is excruciating.

Ryya’s life was simple and she can’t decide if she hates or likes the Demon’s presence. He’s messing with her head. If he doesn’t stop she’s going to knock him out with a frying pan.

It wasn’t supposed to be like this.

She shouldn’t have kissed him.

Did it mean anything to him? Or was he playing with her like a typical Demon?

Note to reader: This is a sci-fi romance that can be read in 90-minutes. Mature content and situations.

My thoughts 💭

This was an enjoyable quick read. Ryya finds rude and bossy roommate, Sorn. Despite Sorn’s rudeness Ryya finds herself attracted to him. He saves her and gives her a choice to become his mate. Their banter was cute and I wouldn’t mind reading more of these stories.

Review: Hitman’s Prey by Mink

Length: 160 pages

Rating:⭐️⭐️⭐️

Synopsis

He’s up to something. I know it. No man can be that handsome and mysterious. He’s probably a spy. I can’t say for sure, but I’m going to find out. Watching Heath is easy, but wanting him is the part that’s going to get me into trouble.

Lena peeks from her windows and tries to catch me doing something, though I’m not sure what she thinks she’ll see. What sort of an assassin would I be if my sweet neighbor figured me out so easily? Besides, I’m here to watch over her. The only problem is that she’s irresistible and far more alluring than my work. Choosing between them may be the death of me, but Lena is more than worth it.

My thoughts 💭

This was an okay read. Lena is spying on Heath. He is aware since she’s not very good at it and he likes to spy on her as well. He thinks she’s adorable and she thinks he’s hot but up to no good but she can’t prove it. When he chooses Lena over his job all heck breaks loose and his secrets come out and they run together to start their new life.

Synopsis

This is a slow burn holiday romance about two broken people with one goal—to survive.

Yoshiro escaped a career of crime with the mafia, after they killed his family. For five years, he’s dropped out of life. All he wants this Christmas is to be left alone. Then, Ebony and her kids accidentally crash onto his property during a snowstorm. For three years, they’ve been running from her husband—who’s been more monster than man.

The storm picks up. They are forced to remain with Yoshiro until it dies down. And the threat of Ebony’s monster remains, lurking within the shadows and threatening her safety. But Yoshiro knows all about death and blood. Her monster doesn’t scare him. What has him terrified is that heartwarming feeling sparking between them. The more time Yoshiro spends with Ebony, the more she becomes a Christmas present that he’s dying to open. Too bad, she’s promised herself that she will never let another man in her or her children’s life again.

Yet, sometimes the best Christmas presents come from a bullet. Every so often a good Christmas miracle is a cut-up body to end a nightmare. And even better, at just the right moment two lonely people can find light in their darkened souls and open their hearts to a new romance.

REDEMPTION is a standalone AmBw romance with an HEA and no cliffhangers. This book also contains violence, strong language, naughty illustrations, and graphic sexual scenes.

My thoughts 💭

I loved Ebony and YoYo! Ebony is running from her husband and YoYo just wants to keep her and her family safe and with him so they can be a family. I enjoyed the slow burn! You knew they wanted each other and when it finally happened it was exactly what was needed with all the tension. They both had been hurt before but healed each other and it was enjoyable to read.
