Synopsis

Banner Spurlock knew the moment that he walked into Kilgore High School and saw Perry Street that life was about to get interesting.

Forced to move due to a problem at home, a problem in the form of his ex-best friend hating him for something that Banner’s father did, Banner doesn’t think very much could improve in his life.

He left his status as king of Benton High School behind and moved to a new school where not only would he have to try out for a new football team and prove himself, but he’d also have to find a place for himself in the hierarchy.

Only, the moment that he arrives, he knows that finding a place for himself won’t be too hard. Especially when his reputation follows him all the way to Kilgore, Texas.

***

Perry Street hates school. She hates her peers—most of them anyway—and she hates her classes. All she wants to do is finish her senior year, graduate, and find a place that will give her a full scholarship so that she doesn’t have to be stuck here forever.

That’s her goal, anyway.

Then she walks into first period, on her first day of her senior year, and sits down. Seconds later, he walks in and changes every single plan she’s ever made.

It isn’t long before Perry starts to fall for the bad boy who doesn’t care who he does and doesn’t impress. The boy makes her heart flutter. The boy makes her want things that she’s never wanted before. Not ever.

The boy brings trouble with him that nearly kills her.

My thoughts 💭

LLV books always makes me cry! I absolutely adored Perry and Banner’s story! They had amazing chemistry and were just perfect together. I definitely recommend reading this!

Review: The Dare by Elle Kennedy

Synopsis

College was supposed to be my chance to get over my ugly-duckling complex and spread my wings. Instead, I wound up in a sorority full of mean girls. I already have a hard time fitting in, so when my Kappa Chi sisters issue the challenge, I can’t say no.

The dare: seduce the hottest new hockey player in the junior class.

Conor Edwards is a regular at Greek Row parties…and in Greek Row sorority beds. He’s the one you fall for before you learn that guys like him don’t give girls like me a second glance. Except Mr. Popular throws me for a loop—rather than laughing in my face, he does me a solid by letting me take him upstairs to pretend we’re getting busy.

Even crazier, now he wants to keep pretending. Turns out Conor loves games, and he thinks it’s fun to pull the wool over my frenemies’ eyes.

But resisting his easy charm and surfer-boy hotness is darn near impossible. Though I’m realizing there’s much more to Conor’s story than his fan club can see.

And the longer this silly ruse goes on, the greater the danger of it all blowing up in my face.

My thoughts 💭

The relationship starts off with a dare. Taylor is dared by her nemesis to hookup with a guy she chose. Conor is a well known ladies man but he’s grown tired of the same game and Taylor’s dare is just the game to get him out of his funk. They end up being really into each other and helps each other through their insecurities. I enjoyed their story with the weird starts, breakups, makeups and everything in between! I definitely recommend this!

Synopsis

I’m leaving.
Or at least, I thought I was leaving…
…until the future King of Argyle got me pregnant.

It was supposed to be one little sailing trip with a childhood friend.

A final goodbye to the islands of my youth.

It’s never that simple, though, is it?

Because my childhood friend has turned into a full-grown, hot-blooded man, who happens to be the future King.

Prince Theo is tall. He’s commanding.

He’s everything that’s been missing from my life, and he’s not afraid to show me all the reasons I should stay.

…The main reason being him, and the way he makes my thighs clench.

My cheeks burn.

My heart thump.

Anytime we’re together, my body and mind are at war.

My body always wins.

Again, and again, and again.

We shouldn’t be together.

I shouldn’t be here at all.

And I definitely shouldn’t be pregnant.

Now, the question is—will Prince Theo still want me to stay when he knows I’m carrying his heir?

Wrong Prince is Book 6 of the Royally Unexpected series. The Little Mermaid gets retold with a dash of accidental pregnancy and a whole lot of heat. Read Books 4 and 5 for the complete story of all the Princes of Argyle!

Note: Previously titled Knocked Up by the Wrong Prince.

My thoughts 💭

This book was okay but it just wasn’t for me. Cara decides to finally do something for herself but a friend convinces her to enjoy one last trip before they go on about their lives. On the trip the discover that they have an intense connection but don’t act on it. Scheming family puts them in a bind and Cara agrees to go on a tour of the kingdom before Theo’s coronation. They finally act on their feelings but don’t tell each other that they want more.

Synopsis

We’re ready to die for the sins of our fathers, but is she?

Zac, Apollo, Cassius, Reuben

They told us we were the cure.

That we were special.

That we were pure.

It was all a lie.

We were just like all the others they defiled, abused, neglected.

We formed a brotherhood and vowed to have our revenge. Now no one stands in our way.

No one, except one girl.

Trinity Malone doesn’t know about our past.

She doesn’t have a say in our future.

At least, so we thought.

Until we realized Trinity’s exactly who we were looking for.

She’s our secret weapon.

Soon, she’ll be seeking revenge…

Just like us.

My thoughts 💭

I thought the storyline was interesting but not much happened. Trinity got picked on and the guys scared her…. it didn’t really pick up until you got towards the end. I’m unsure if I’ll read the next one.

Synopsis

They might be richer than gods, but they’re morally bankrupt.

As far as the boys who run America’s most exclusive international academy are concerned, I’m an unwelcome interloper, an inconvenience, and they’re determined to make my life a living hell.

When Wren Jacobi sets eyes on Wolf Hall Academy’s newest inductee, all he sees is an easy mark. A reserved little girl with a target painted on her back. He knows nothing of my troubled past, though. Nothing of my mother’s suspicious death, or the horrific treatment I’ve had to endure at the hands of my psychotic father.

And he has no idea of the lengths that I, unassuming little Elodie Stillwater, will go to in order to break the savage beast who dreams of breaking me first.

There’s a wolf stalking the forests that surround my new school.

Little does he know…

There are far scarier predators lurking out there in the dark.

My thoughts 💭

I enjoyed Wren and Elodie’s story! Wren has a plan in mind for the new girl but once he sees her in person everything changes. Instead of wanting to crush her, he wants to make her happy. He always gets what he wants he just has to make her admit she wants him too. I loved Elodie! She’s been through some stuff but finally has a bit of freedom and a crazy but hot guy interested in her. This book had me interested from beginning to end. I can’t wait to read the next book!

Review: When The Saint Falls by A.D. McCammon

Length: 298 pages

Synopsis

Thatcher Michaelson is a bully.

Arrogant. Cruel. Ruthless.

And the most attractive guy I’ve ever laid eyes on.

He’s the rebel of Westbrook high, and I’m merely the annoying goody two-shoes he dubbed the saint.

There must be something wrong with me. After nearly two years of dirty looks and constant humiliation, I’m still crushing on the guy who hated me on sight.

Then he kissed me and instead of the ice-cold gaze I was accustomed to, I saw passion burning behind his dark molten eyes.

Violet St. James doesn’t belong in my world.

Good. Kind. Pure.

She’s everything I’m not.

She doesn’t just look like an angel, she is one. And I’ve fought every impulse to make her mine.

But all my efforts went up in flames the second I tasted her sweet lips. My inability to stay away has changed everything.

She’s determined to break down all my walls, but my little saint doesn’t understand the consequences of her actions.

She tells me she’s not afraid of the fall.

But she should be.

My thoughts 💭

This was a pretty good read. Thatcher is a bit of a jerk towards Violet but it’s not really a secret they want each other. Both characters kind of annoyed me at times with Violet being kind of whiny and Thatcher being hot and cold towards Violet. They are in high school so it made sense. I was glad when they finally got their issues sorted. They were good for each other. Overall it was an enjoyable read.

Synopsis

From #1 Amazon Bestseller L.J. Shen comes a new, emotional standalone about first love, second chances, and overcoming breathtaking losses at a young age.

Vaughn Spencer.

They call him an angry god.

To me, he is nothing but a heartless prince.

His parents rule this town, its police, every citizen and boutique on Main Street.

All I own is a nice, juicy grudge against him for that time he almost killed me.

Between hooking up with a different girl every weekend, breaking hearts, noses and rules, Vaughn also finds the time to bully little ole’ me.

I fight back, tooth and nail, never expecting him to chase me across the ocean after we graduate high school.

But here he is, living with me in a dark, looming castle on the outskirts of London.

A fellow intern. A prodigal sculptor. A bloody genius.

They say this place is haunted, and it is.

Carlisle Castle hides two of our most awful secrets.

Vaughn thinks he can kill the ghosts of his past, but what he doesn’t know? It’s my heart he’s slaying.

Angry God is a stand-alone, DARK High School Romance. It deals with sensitive subjects some may find triggering.

My thoughts 💭

This book was absolutely amazing and gave me all the feels! It’s dark but it’s sooo good. Lenora and Vaughn are both crazy but they are perfect for each other! I definitely recommend reading this!

Synopsis

Lions, tigers and jaguars are just the beginning of Ella’s problems…

As an unremarkable stray left out on the streets, Ella thought she’d finally found a family in the Hill pride. Instead, she found herself living as a glorified maid, serving the future King of the colony himself.

Axel is rude and careless at best. At worst? He’s downright cruel, and he seems to take personal delight in reminding Ella that she’ll never belong. Too bad her heart never got the memo.

Axel and his perfect girlfriend are all but destined to rule the colony, but when the Unveiling comes around, it’s Ella who’s chosen as the next Empress by the moon itself.

And the claws are out.

Now every tom in the colony is vying for Ella’s attention, including bad boy Axel, the current Empress’ gorgeous son Bishop, and a mysterious Academy professor named Sterling whose ice blue eyes are every bit as dangerous as his caustic wit.

Choosing between the three of them is hard enough, but an inconvenient heat has other ideas. Ella’s sure she’s living her own Cinderella story. She’s just not sure if she’s the princess or the mouse.

My thoughts 💭

This was a good start to the series. I just wish a little more would’ve happened before the cliffhanger. Ella is a stray who isn’t treated very well and she’s chosen to be the next Empress to the shock of most people. Ella is a sweetheart who’s just trying to make it through academy but jealous and scared folks are being kind of ridiculous. Ella is the next chosen Empress and everyone is going to treat her like a pariah…Axel is a selfish jerk but I liked Bishop and Sterling and wanted her to choose them but maybe next book.
