My thoughts 💭

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was a nice and steamy second chance romance! Janae and Kai were destined to be together! Overall this is an enjoyable read with lovable characters!

Release Date: January 22, 2019

Source: NetGalley

Synopsis

An archaeologist with a zest for life finds herself stranded in small-town North Carolina—with a brooding Highland hunk who’s straight out of ancient Scotland.

Ramsay MacDara wishes the goddesses had left his arse back in the tenth century. That way he never would have met the gold digger who made a fool out of him. A loner at heart, Ramsay is riding his beloved horse through the woods near his family’s North Carolina theme park, Highland Life and Legends, when he hears tires squealing—followed by a thud—and rushes to the scene to help. That’s when he sets his eyes on a pair of long legs sticking out of the moon roof of a car. His interest piqued, the rest of her will soon arouse his greatest desires…and deepest fears.

Archaeologist Katie Jenson is on a six-month sabbatical from her job at Princeton University. Following the death of her beloved father—whose dying request was for Katie to live life to the fullest—she’s headed to a friend’s beach house in North Carolina. But a momentary distraction takes her off the road and on the journey of her life…with a sex god in a kilt at her side. Ramsay’s passion is the stuff of legend—and it just may be Katie’s greatest discovery.

My Thoughts 💭

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was such a sweet time travel romance! The goddesses throw Katie in Ramsay’s path and it was so cute! Ramsay isn’t so sure about a new relationship but his destiny says otherwise. They had great chemistry even though they bumped heads! I loved Katie but I hated when she was upset with Ramsay because she decided not to listen to advice given to them in the first place 😩. I loved how confident and lovable Ramsay was once he was comfortable!

I enjoyed the story and thought it flowed well and I’m now interested in reading the first two books!

Unscrew Me by Hayley Faiman review!

Synopsis

Thirty-two and single, Presley wants to start over. She’s only going through the motions–just breathing, not living. It isn’t the life she’s always imagined.

She should be married, with a little house and a few children, maybe even a labrador to greet her after a long day of teaching third graders.

Treasurer for the Savage Beast MC, Silver lived life hard. At forty-five he’s seen and done it all–twice.

A single father in need of someone who could love him, and his boy. He’s given up on ever finding a woman who fit him–fit them.

Two people breathing. Two people wanting to be loved. One an outlaw. One an innocent. Two people who could not be more opposite, yet when their worlds collide, so does their chemistry.

My thoughts 💭

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I enjoyed this gritty, hot story! Silver and Presley had amazing chemistry. Presley is a good girl and Silver’s son teacher. Silver is the bad boy in a MC. Everyone warns Presley not to get involved with Silver but she can’t help the way he makes her feel. I like that Presley knew what she wanted and wasn’t willing to go without it. Silver was set in his ways but wanted Presley with him and his boy and happy and he’d do anything to keep her with him. If you enjoy an alpha male and good girl then I definitely recommend reading this! I can’t wait to read more from this author!

•ARC Review• Conor by A. Zavarelli!

Title: Conor (Boston Undercover)
Author: A. Zavarelli
Genre: Dark Romance
Release Date:

Ivy

When I stumbled into a mafia run club seeking a job, I was looking for protection. Little did I know I’d need protection from him.

Conor O’ Callahan was exactly the kind of danger I was trying to avoid. He was gorgeous as sin with an accent hotter than Hades, but that’s where the charm ended.

He was also cynical, cold, and downright cranky.

So, you could imagine my surprise when he gave me a proposition. Marry him or lose my life.

Desperate times call for desperate measures. I’ve learned to do what’s necessary to survive in this world, and that includes marrying a mobster. Regardless of what he might say, it’s only temporary.

It’s not like I’m going to sleep with him. Or fall for him.

Because that would be stupid, right?

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Two people come together…one out of necessity and another trying to do what they feel is right and they end up falling in love. Conor and Ivy were so cute! I enjoyed their story and loved their chemistry! Ivy was running from her past and decided that staying with the Irish mafia was her best chance at surviving. Crow asks Conor to keep an eye on Ivy and Conor feels like he finally has a chance to prove himself. Conor tried to fight his feelings for Ivy but he wasn’t able to fight it for too long. I love this series and I definitely recommend it if you enjoy mafia romances!

Her tales have been known to flirt with darkness and sometimes court it unabashedly altogether. Revenge themes and tortured souls are her favorites to write and this gives her an excuse to watch bizarre and twisted documentaries in her spare time.
She is slightly obsessed with Theo James and funny animal memes. If you don’t mind these things, you should add her on facebook.

Book Review: T.A. By Jamie Begley!

Synopsis

Cuffing season was supposed to be about finding a hook-up to keep her warm during the cold Kentucky winter nights. T.A. wasn’t looking for Mr. Right; she just wanted Mr. Available.

That was before she met Dalton Andrews. The widower was nursing a broken heart, and the only thing he wanted was a woman to take his grown kids’ minds off worrying about him.

It was supposed to be a trade-off—he would keep her warm and toasty during the nights, and she would put up a smokescreen in front of his kids during the days. It was a win-win situation.

That was until the famous actor decided he wanted out of the deal and Mr. Available was a no-show during the biggest snowstorm of the year.

Poor schmuck didn’t realize that all the drama he had experienced in Tinseltown was nothing compared to dealing with this bitch.

My thoughts 💭

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I love this series but Dalton has to be my least favorite guy. I completely felt for him grieving for his wife but after a while I was kind of over her being brought up. He was constantly hurting T.A.’s feelings then giving her the cold shoulder or kissing her. I was so glad when he finally gave T.A. what she needed. T.A. seemed hard but she had a heart of gold. I just loved her. I thought the book was well written and I enjoyed the drama and secrets!

Trent by Xyla Turner book review!

Synopsis

Bernadette:

The point of becoming an escort was to pay for my law degree.

Period.

One more year and a hefty tuition bill had me rethinking my no sex rule with clients. One exception to this rule with one client that changed my entire life.

He was rude, opinionated, prejudiced and downright ignorant. For him to have an affinity for a certain type of woman, he surely didn’t know how to talk to them. He knew how to have them screaming his name.

Outside of this, my one wish was that he would STFU.

We had five nights only and I was counting down to the hour until I wasn’t.

Five turned into fifty. Hookups turned into sleepovers. A client turned into a significant other.

But how?

Why?

For goodness sakes, he was a damned Republican!

Trent:

A man over fifty is afforded the privilege to say and do what he wants.

Period.

The criteria for my escorts were black women.

Period.

Note: This book is a bit different than a normal Xyla Turner book. It is IR, BWWM, and HEA, but it’s a bit darker and really sexy. If you’re not easily offended, then this is for you.

My thoughts 💭

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Dottie (Bernadette)was working as an escort to put herself through law school when she got an a—hole client(Trent)who couldn’t get enough of her. Dottie liked Trent best when he didn’t talk and they went from disliking each other to a relationship and I just loved it. Trent was a congressman who was kind of racist but as he got to know Dottie better and she called him on his sh-t he got his act together to the amusement of his new friend. Their story gave me all the feels and I absolutely enjoyed reading and definitely recommend reading this!

Depravity by Natalie Bennett book review!

Synopsis

I was born an ordinary girl with a tiny seed of sickness.

As I got older, it grew bigger, manifesting into something sinister.

Mama told me to lock it away and let it wither.

I didn’t know how.

So I hid it.

Solitude became my closest companion.

Solo, single, lonely.

Until Declan.

Until Ethan.

They were drawn to my sickness like moths to a flame.

With them, I was nurtured into something special.

With them, I flourished in depths of decay and darkness.

Contains menage (m-m/m-f-m/m-m-f.)

Standalone.

*Usually would insert warning here*

My thoughts 💭

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This book was crazy good! The drama, twists and turns were amazing. Everyone was crazy and I loved it lol! Helena likes to fix things and Ethan and Declan don’t mind helping her get her “fix”. Natalie has become one of my favorite dark romance authors. If you love dark and twisted romances then I definitely recommend this one!
