Synopsis

Magic is dangerous.

I should know. It got me a thirty-year sentence scrubbing toilets for a scumbag wizard.

My only hope is the Unleashing, a ceremony that unlocks the dormant powers of magical descendants when we turn eighteen. Since my mom was a lowly psychic, I don’t expect to be blessed with much more than the ability to forecast the weather.

But when the sorcerers unlock my magic, all hell breaks loose. Turns out, I’m not a wizard, witch, or even a sorcerer. I’m…something else.

Because of my unique abilities, I’m required to attend the Academy of Sorcery until I learn to harness and control my magic. Not only that, but the three sexiest and most powerful sorcerers on campus are assigned to guard me night and day. Jackpot, right?

Not quite.

Turns out these guys aren’t too happy with the arrangement, and they show it by making my life hell. That’s just the beginning of my troubles. The mean-girl squad declares open season on me, a mysterious woman attacks me every time I step off campus, and my professor is too hot for his own good. And when it’s time to find a weapon to help me master my abilities, my magic chooses… a spork.

It’s going to be a long year.

Good thing I have what it takes to survive it.

My thoughts 💭

I liked this book. I liked the storyline. I didn’t like three “powerful” men being easily manipulated. With a newbie I’d expect it but not with them. Jade should have them grovel she’s kind of too forgiving lol. I liked the tension between her and Darius…forbidden teacher/student!! Yesss! Even with the slight disappointment of the 3 guys I’m still interested in reading how the next book goes.

Synopsis

Welcome to Midnight Fae Academy.

Home of the Dark Arts.

Vampires.

And cruelly handsome fae.

A forbidden bite led to my capture and recruitment.

There are no flowers here.

No life.

Only death.

I’m an Earth Fae who doesn’t belong here.

They can play their little mind games all they want, but I’m going to find a way back to my elemental world. Even if it kills me.

Except Headmaster Zephyrus is one step ahead of my every move.

Prince Kolstov won’t stop cornering me.

And Shadow–the reason I’m in this damn mess to begin with–haunts my dreams.

My affinity for the earth is dying and being replaced by something more sinister. Something powerful. Something deadly.

The Midnight Fae believe this is my fate.

They claim that I was “recruited” for a purpose.

To battle a rising presence.

Or to die trying.

I don’t owe them a damn thing. But if I have to pass their trials to find my way home, then so be it. I survived a plague and far worse in the Elemental Fae realm. An ominous energy? Please. What a joke.

Give it your best shot.

I’m waiting.

And don’t you dare bite me.

Or I’ll make you regret it.

Author Note: This is a dark paranormal reverse harem romance, and despite Aflora’s opinions on the matter, there will definitely be biting. Shadow, aka Shade, guarantees it.

My thoughts 💭

I can’t wait to read the next book! Aflora is the Earth Fae heir and an encounter with Shadow a Midnight Fae turns her life upside down with a bite. Zeph and Kols don’t really make things any better by being hot and cold with her. They all want to protect her and it’s clear she’s more than what she thought she was. I enjoyed the riddles, secrets and mating.

Synopsis

Happy Birthday, Raven. Welcome to Noir Reformatory.

Not what every girl wants to hear on her 18th birthday, but I accepted my fate long ago. Once my wings turned black, I knew I’d be stuck behind bars.

A Noir Angel for life.

That’s fine.

I’ll own this prison just like I did back home.

Even if it’s ruled by two hot kings.

This reformatory isn’t all-girls; it’s co-ed. Which means I’m outnumbered ten-to-one by brutes with more brawn than brain. Not a problem. I thrive on aggression and this place is riddled with it. A nightmare wrapped up in an ebony cloak.

Well, bring it on, boys.

Just try and claim me.

Note: This MMF romance novel is part of the Paranormal Prison collection and the start of a brand new “Why Choose” series by USA Today Bestselling Authors Lexi C. Foss & J.R. Thorn.

My thoughts 💭

I liked this book. Raven was born with black wings which just marked her as bad. She’s sent to a different prison when she turns 18 where she meets Sorin and Zian. The guys protect her, improve her fighting and realizes that their mates. After so long they start to question what’s really going on and they get partial answers and have to wait or figure out the rest. I can’t wait to read Novak’s story.

For I am descended from the Witch.

My thoughts 💭

I liked this book. One night changes the relationship between a witch and the 3 hexers hunting her. Ever doesn’t let Wilds, Keane or Ristt stop her from her destiny. When the guys realize they want to keep her they decide it’s best for them to help her…when they finally catch her.

Synopsis

I have blood on my hands.

Blood that isn’t mine.

I had thought I had escaped my past. I had thought I had finally freed myself.

But can you really escape your monsters?

With a gang war looming on the horizon, bodies piling up, and a strange new student claiming ties to the Shadow Man, I find myself looking into my past.

Will I be able to uncover the mysteries surrounding my upbringing and the Shadow Man?

And what if the monster that needs to be stopped is me?

This is a reverse harem slow-burn horror novel. It is the second in a series. This book WILL END IN A CLIFFHANGER. If that bothers you, please wait until all books are released. With this style of series, not all questions will be answered every book, and more might pop up along the way. At the end of the series, there will be a HEA for Cami and her guys.

WARNING: This book contains language, violence, horror themes, and sexual situations that may not be appropriate for people of all ages.

My thoughts 💭

The creepy goodness continues in book 2. That cliffhanger had on the edge of my seat! The guys have accepted they are apart of Cami’s harem and are all in with her and finding answers to why she’s haunted by the shadow man. I enjoyed this book.

I feel like I should say I DNF book 3 of the series. It got uninteresting for me.

Review: Wicked Blaze Correctional by M. Sinclair

Length: 237 pages

Published: January 9, 2020

Rating:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Source: Kindle Unlimited

Synopsis

Wicked Blaze Correctional. The home to the most dangerous criminals of each realm. A private correctional institution that had to be placed on a separate realm because of the threat the inmates posed. Drake had sent me here, to ruin me. To destroy me and any memory of his egregious act that could incriminate him for being the homicidal maniac he was.

What he hadn’t counted on? Me. He hadn’t counted on my strength and my magic rising up to become the scariest damn thing in this place.

It helped that I had a human by my side that showed up to breakfast every morning covered in blood. I should probably ask Dimitri what that was about one of these days. Don’t forget Milo! An Ink Mage with the nifty ability to not only interpret dreams but to change them, as well as reality itself. Did I mention he was absolutely mental, maybe it was because of the insomnia? I don’t know what to tell them about one of the lead guards, Vaughn, who keeps claiming I am his ‘mate’ and promising to get me out. Or how to explain the odd feeling I have about the new inmate that just showed up, seeming a bit too sweet for this place.

There is something changing in the air though, something different than what has been going on the past six months, so what has been changing? Maybe it’s the magic eater that keeps floating by my cell every morning? I didn’t care what the change was as long as I got out. I had a witch to kill and I wasn’t going to be able to put Drake in the ground from here.

Welcome to Wicked Blaze Correctional – Book 1 of the Wronged Series. This trilogy will be a fast burn reverse harem filled with dark subject matters, a strong FMC, and insane men. This institution isn’t like any correctional facility you’ve read about before. It’s brutal, cutthroat, and there are no rules except that you can’t leave until your sentence is done… which is never. Follow Valentina and her men on a journey filled with revenge, steam, and strong characters that don’t fit the norm of society. A bit crazy? That is just normal.

This Fantasy medium/fast burn RH contains several dark themes that readers should be aware of: swearing (I know surprising, right?), gore, violence, assault, and sexual themes suitable for +18. Additionally, this book does have a mature light m/m themes that develop over time.

My thoughts 💭

I really enjoyed this book! Once I started reading I couldn’t stop. I can’t wait to read what’s next for this crazy group!

Review: Supernatural Inmate by Avery Song & Veronica Agnus

Length:430 pages

Rating:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Source: Kindle Unlimited

Synopsis

After pissing off the head of the supernatural lab, failing at befriending my fellow inmates, and pitching a temper tantrum in the underground cafeteria, it was only a matter of time before I had to do something about this whole captivity thing.

For me, Cassandra Thorn, being born as a human, raised by an elite group of supernaturals, and struggling to reach my twentieth birthday was far more fun than this.

Then again, anything would be.

In this case, “this” refers to being taken against my will—kidnapped—and trapped in an underground lab for supernatural shifters. Pretty ridiculous, considering I was a mere mortal.

Or so I was told.

Turns out there are a lot of things I was told, not all of them true. Now a family secret has been revealed and destiny is just waiting for me to fulfill it…but I was stuck in Prison Boringville with a bunch of not-so-friendly detainees.

Being a supernatural inmate isn’t my style, so with the very new powers bestowed upon me, I was getting my booty out of this hellhole. Unless Adonis the sexy incubus, Dominick the deadly fae master, Otis the death-seeking vampire, and Tristan the sly shapeshifter bust me out first.

Supernatural Inmate is the first book in the Supernatural Captivity series, a Paranormal Prison Romance.

My thoughts 💭

Cass believes she’s the only human in a supernatural household. When her life is in danger and secrets and betrayal comes to light she starts to wonder if she’s maybe more than what she’s been told all her life. I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait to read what’s next for Cass and the guys!

Synopsis

A new dark romance from the USA Today bestselling author of the Rydeville Elite series.

Everything changed the night my dad died.

The night I met Saint, Galen, Caz, and Theo.

Those manipulative a-holes set out to ruin me after our hot night together, but they didn’t realize you can’t destroy something that’s already broken. And it only works if the victim cares.

Which I don’t.

Because I’ve been in hell for years, and nothing penetrates the steel walls I’ve erected.

Until The Sainthood decides I belong to them and cracks appear in my veneer. Their cruel games, harsh words, and rough touch awakens something inside me, and now, I’m in trouble.

They draw me deeper into their dangerous world, until I’m in the middle of all the violence and gang warfare, tangled up in all the secrets and lies, and there’s no turning back.

Because they own me.

And nothing has ever felt so right.

I’m exactly where I should be.

But with enemies on all sides, survival becomes a deadly game with no guarantees.

And, sometimes, saints become sinners.

Due to mature content, this book is recommended to readers aged eighteen and over. This is a full-length 95k-word reverse harem dark romance novel with enemies-to-lovers/bullying themes. Cannot be read as a standalone and ends with a cliffhanger. Book 1 of 3.

My thoughts 💭

Wowww! This book was interesting! Had me hooked from beginning to end. The secrets, lies and betrayal! Harlow is bada** and I love her. The sainthood boys kind of grew on me except for Galen. I can’t wait to read the next book!

Synopsis

Lions, tigers and jaguars are just the beginning of Ella’s problems…

As an unremarkable stray left out on the streets, Ella thought she’d finally found a family in the Hill pride. Instead, she found herself living as a glorified maid, serving the future King of the colony himself.

Axel is rude and careless at best. At worst? He’s downright cruel, and he seems to take personal delight in reminding Ella that she’ll never belong. Too bad her heart never got the memo.

Axel and his perfect girlfriend are all but destined to rule the colony, but when the Unveiling comes around, it’s Ella who’s chosen as the next Empress by the moon itself.

And the claws are out.

Now every tom in the colony is vying for Ella’s attention, including bad boy Axel, the current Empress’ gorgeous son Bishop, and a mysterious Academy professor named Sterling whose ice blue eyes are every bit as dangerous as his caustic wit.

Choosing between the three of them is hard enough, but an inconvenient heat has other ideas. Ella’s sure she’s living her own Cinderella story. She’s just not sure if she’s the princess or the mouse.

My thoughts 💭

This was a good start to the series. I just wish a little more would’ve happened before the cliffhanger. Ella is a stray who isn’t treated very well and she’s chosen to be the next Empress to the shock of most people. Ella is a sweetheart who’s just trying to make it through academy but jealous and scared folks are being kind of ridiculous. Ella is the next chosen Empress and everyone is going to treat her like a pariah…Axel is a selfish jerk but I liked Bishop and Sterling and wanted her to choose them but maybe next book.

I’ve been wrongfully accused.
Sure, everyone sent to prison says that.
It’s true, though.
I’m not who they say I am.
Dark. Evil. An abomination. The worst of the worst.

They sent me to the deepest, most awful catacombs of Nightmare Penitentiary. It’s where they put all their secrets they don’t want anyone in the world—both human and paranormal—to know about. I’m left to be forgotten and waste away until the day I die.

And I’m not alone.

I’m there with others. Others who are worse than me.
Terrifying. Horrible. Monsters.
Four demons in particular who seem to wake from their evil slumber the moment I enter their presence.

They want me.
All four of them.

I’m not sure what they plan on doing once they get their hands on me.
But one thing’s for sure…

It won’t be good.
